A Note About the Inspiration

Every public room and restaurant on Titanic was designed and furnished down to the smallest detail. Windows, in particular, were often designed in several layers to achieve a specific effect. The window that this piece is based on is from the first-class dining saloon, which was decorated in an Edwardian interpretation of the Jacobean style. Its ornamental grill was hung in front of a plate-glass window.
