The square cushion-cut amethyst is delicately surrounded by vines, leaves, and grapes, a motif Tiffany often used, and one that is perfect for the color of the gem itself. According to Roman mythology, amethyst was colored purple by the god of wine and was thought to offer protection against drunkenness. It derives its name from a Greek word meaning "not to intoxicate."

They're beautiful and unique ! This definitely looks like it came from another century. The stone is a light color. The flowers are beautiful. The weight of the earrings are just right. All in all, I'm glad I have them. Oh, and they go great with the matching ring! 02-27-13
