Lovely Ring!
This is a truly lovely ring. The flowers around it are very unique. I guess I'm lucky according to some of the other reviews because my amethyst is dark and gorgeous. I truly love this ring and think it is a beauty. I'm so glad I got it before it was gone. Thanks Smithsonian for your quality items and this ring is no exception!

It's so beautiful and unique!
This definitely looks like a ring from another century. The stone is a light color. The flowers are beautiful. The weight of the ring is just right. All in all, I'm glad I have it.

PALE STONE
Setting is lovely but the stone looks like a piece of glass...very light color.

Very Pale stone
I bought this for my Granddaughter since it is her birthstone. The ring I got was very pale and did not have that deep violet colour that should be seen in Amethyst. She has other pieces and I knew this would not compare favorably. The ring itself is well-made and looks nice on but the colour was just not right.

Distinctly Beautiful
It's a great size stone, beautiful color, smooth as to not snag clothing. Noticeable to others, you'll get a multitude of compliments!

It stands on it's own
I got the ring and was not sure about the color, it is muted. It is sized a bit bigger and ring for me, a size 6 is a bit larger but the more I wore it, the more I fell in love with it. gorgeous, and many compliements came my way.

Stone diappoints
The setting is gorgeous and looks 14K. The stone is very disappointing. It is very pale and varies in depth. A better stone would make this a 5 star/

Lovely!
Quite a beautiful ring-- I was actually surprised at the quality of my amethyst! Tiffany-like setting is terrific. Only one small issue: it seems to run a little big, and can't be sized.

Beautiful!
I purchased this ring as the companion piece to the lovely earrings. I opened the box and was so pleased to finally slip it on my finger! The color was so lovely, the perfect match to the earrings! My birthstone is the amethyst, and I have many amethysts in my collection! The color is perfect- a lovely rich purple hue, not too light or too dark. The design and setting are lovely and full of symbolism. Smithsonian has done a great job on this collection. Guess I am lucky to have recieved such a great stone in this ring (and the earrings too). Try to find a better quality in this stone and carat weight in NY and you'd be shocked at what you would pay- or not- if you shop there often. This is a great ring and a great value, I definitely recommend this ring to anyone that loves amethyst and a lovely setting!

I just received this ring as a Christmas gift today. I was shocked! I have been watching the Smithsonian shows for a while, but I never took the plunge to order such extravagant items. My love for the jewelry is somewhat of a guilty pleasure. This ring is LOVELY...feminine and glam at the same time. The 14 K gold clad scroll work setting is a stunning backdrop to the deep tones in the amethyst. And, the stone is quite large! It's a keeper, just like my husband:) I hope someday to see the necklace in person.

Ring for fun
Since this is a new purchase I can't know how this ring will hold up to constant wearing. However, it is fun to have and looks nice on the hand. I would like the color to have been a bit deeper. It has a watered down appearance to me and the actual color isn't as blue as the photo. It like this color better. It is a pinker purple. Fun to have, all told. GPoky
