Michael Dawkins Sterling and Gemstone Chain Link Ring
I have wanted this ring for quite some time...ever since I received MD's larimar and granulation link toggle bracelet and some larimar/blue topaz earrings from QVC as a gift. I thought this would coordinate with them perfectly. The little blue topaz stones in the earrings are sky blue topaz. The stone in the ring I received is almost colorless. I also sent my daughter an amythest one. I will post another review when I see hers. The design and heft of the silver are awesome. The stone is so disappointing. I don't know what to do. I have aquamarine and this would be a sick aquamarine. I wish QVC would contact me for a solution...I really want the ring but my heart aches when I look at the stone...
This is a dazzler!!
Thank you Michael Dawkins for creating such a spectacular blue topaz beauty!! The chain detail on the side of the band is exquisite and the amount of silver in this ring is so substantial... You get allot of ring for the price!! And the granulation work surrounding the stone is extraordinary!! This was given to me as a Valentine's day gift and it made my day so special!!!!!
Gorgeous -- no issue with color!
I'm a February baby and this was a gift "to me from me" for my birthday. After reading the reviews, I was concerned the Amethyst would almost be unrecognizable, due to the lack of saturation of color. I was happy when I received mine, the Amethyst was just the right shade of purple and it's very easy to tell, it's a true Amethyst. The ring is substantial but not over the top. All of the additional details of the ring make it a great value and a unique piece. The only thing I would advise future buyers is to size-up. I normally wear an 8, I ordered an 8 and 9. The 8 fit, but it felt a bit tight, the 9 is much more comfortable and will allow for finger swelling, when the weather gets warmer.
Another wow ring from Michael Dawkins
I used to think that rings were the weak link in the Michael Dawkins line, but no more! I agree with all the comments from the earlier reviewer who noted that stone color is a matter of taste. This isn't a deep amythyst--but very beautiful none the less. The silver work is just outstanding, what I have come to expect from all the Michael Dawkins pieces.
I ordered this ring in amythest and it is beautiful - a little lighter than I expected, but nonetheless, beautiful. The silverwork is well done. I'm a Dawkins fan - his pieces are unique and well done! I have small hands and love the look!
Gorgeous Blue Topaz
I really like the blue topaz on this one - yes it's light but I like it. The ring is comfortable though a little thick but, it is a stunner and get positive comments on it.
I saw this on air and thought the ring looked amazing. I ordered it and was waiting in anticipation for it to arrive. Opened the box and was so disappointed. The quality and weight were gorgeous and the size (8) was very true. However, the stone color (purple) was the problem. The color, or lack do color waste issue - it was barely purple - nothing even remotely close to what the picture is showing or what it looked like on-air. The stone had a lot of facets which was the wrong style for the ring - according to my jeweler - the facets allow too much light so the color is off to the side and not when you look at it. I had to send it back as I am fair skinned so the stone looked clear or very pale pink and disappeared on my hand. Silver work was amazing though. Very sad.
Not my Best Purchase
I am very dissapointed as I expected the amethyst to be a deeper/darker purple. You can hardly notice the stone within all of the silver . . . I am thinking of returning my purchase

It is an unusual and beautiful ring but had to send back because it was just to thick between fingers. Very substantial but doesn't need to have quite that much between fingers. I like something a little thinner very uncomfortable.
Poor quality Blue Topaz
The design is fabulous and it feels great on my finger but, I ordered the blue topaz and am very dissappointed in the washed out color of the stone. My finger shows through the stone making it even worse and it looks almost beige with a slight hint of pale blue. I have had this problem with another blue topaz piece of his. I gave it a 3 star though because I really like the setting and weight of the ring. I love Michael Dawkins's designs and have a lot of his pieces but he needs to watch the depth of color in the blue topaz stones he uses. The quality of the stone does not do justice to his awesome designs. I would rather pay more and have a better quality stone with more depth of color.
Love Blue Topaz!!
I ordered the blue topaz, yes it is a light colored blue but it's still a pretty ring. I have quiet a few blue topaz rings in different shades and all of them are Beautiful (to me)!! Thanks Michael. I also ordered the bracelet with the blue topaz and turquoise. Looks very pretty together.
Another Winner from Michael!
I just received the ring in the blue & I am not the least bit concerned with the light color of the stone. First off I do not feel it is as light as other reviewers commented. The stone I received was what they advertised & stone color satutaion is a matter of taste.
I love the Michael Dawkins signature granulation, & the facets on the stone and the links on the sides. I find the ring very comfortable, not heavy but sunstantial enough that you know you are wearing a quality ring. It also looks good on different fingers. I sized up & I am glad I did. The stone is a good size, I like that it is set on the east west & it fits the setting perecftly.
It's a keeper, no doubt!
Thanks for the easy pay.
