Something about it...
While I agree that the stone is not the best quality, there is something about this ring that is so elegant. I pair it with a vintage style diamond band and it looks like something from an antique shop. I wear this ring everyday and it only gets prettier. That being said, yes the emerald is milky and opaque, but again there is a certain beauty to it.

Emerald Didn't Sparkle
I had this ring on my Wish List for many months and finally ordered it. The design and size of stones were perfect but the emerald was dead! Maybe it was just too opaque for me. With some regret I returned the ring because I knew I wouldn't wear it as often as I should. I did order another Judith peice from my wish list J279469-Aqua band ring.

Really!?
The color of the emerald is so milky. There is no resemblance to an emerald at all and this is suppose to be a genuine emerald. I was very disappointed when I received this ring. Really!? I am going to have to return this ring. It didn't resemble the ring pictured at all. The stone color is much lighter than pictured and seems considerably smaller.

Stunning!
This ring is gorgeous! I love the size of the emerald! It's very saturated green and the facets make it special. I love the detail in the design on the band. I have several pieces from Judith Ripka's collection and I appreciate the quality of the workmanship.

not what I expected
The design of the ring is gorgeous. The stone is also set well. I wanted this as a gift for my mother for her birthday (lucky lady, it is her birthstone). She loves Judith Ripka so I figured this was a win win. I read the reviews before and was hopeful that the other reviewers were just finicky. I received the ring and after looking at the stone, I just couldn't give it to my mom as a gift - emerald or not. I am no jewelry expert, but my mother is much better versed than me. I knew if I wasn't impressed by the stone (with my clueless eye), she certainly wouldn't be. Sadly, this had to go back.

It Went Back...
I didn't expect a nicer emerald at this price, and I didn't receive one. On the other hand, when ordering an emerald I also didn't expect to receive a gemstone that looked more like jade... The stone I received was completely opaque, light green and had no sparkle whatsoever. The setting is quite lovely, so if one is content to own an emerald that you know to be an emerald but looks nothing like emeralds as most of us envision them then you might like this ring... Personally, I didn't, so I sent it back. While true the gemstone is a nice size and, as noted, the setting is very pretty, I decided that for the cost of the ring I'd prefer something else.

LET'S GET REAL HERE
Ladies, this ring cost $150 dollars, not fifteen thousand for a 1.80cttw.
As one reviewer stated, this is not the "crown jewels," and for this price did you actually
expect perfection?
In retail you never get an emerald this size. You get, if you're lucky a tiny piece that you can hardly see and hope it is not cloudy, as this is, or has inclusions, as this does.
But you get what you pay for and Judith is no different.
The setting is tasteful and the stone is larger than most, hardly of good quality.
It is what it is and for the price, it IS EXCEPTIONAL.
I'm keeping mine.

Worst Judith RIpka Purchase ever
I love Judith Ripka jewelry and have never returned a single piece but this ring can't go back fast enough for me. I own a number of emeralds - some more expensive than others and am familiar with the various quality on the market. This is a sub standard stone -- the ring I received was not only dull but covered with some sort of a cloudy white film. I have never seen anything like it. In addition - the setting was so cheap and so not the normal RIpka standard that I was actually shocked at how poorly constructed the ring was. If this is a new source for you -- Judith - run the other way and stop working with them immediately. I own lots of your pieces through QVC and through your Boutique and have never seen the likes of this piece. Back it goes.

lovely ring
Emerald is my birthstone and I have always wanted an emerald ring.
This is a lovely ring. Beautiful setting and while the emerald is not the quality of "the crown jewels", it is pretty and unusual. I am quite pleased with this purchase.

It is what it is and that is beautiful
My husband bought this for me for a present for no reason at all. This is a beautiful ring. Yes it is an opaque emerald and I am love with this ring anyway. It is in a very pretty setting. If you read one review let it be this one.. It is not the clear emerald that at this size would be in the 1000.00 dollars. It is however, an emerald that is faceted in a pretty way and for the price is absolutely worth it. Compliments when I wear it because it is set so perfectly. I may have to size up though. I can wear it the fit is just a bit tight. That would be my only criticism.

Disappointed!
To say I am disappointed in this ring is to say the least. When I first got it, was a really pretty ring, then as I wore it I thought it started to lose it's sparkle and clarity, but thought, maybe it was just the lighting. Well, finally took a GOOD look at it a few days ago and saw that the stone had become milky and washed out all around the edges. And honestly, I thought the silver also wasn't as shiny as it should be. Unfortunately, it is too late to send back, but Judith, you need to go back to the drawing board on this one. Lot of money for such poor quality.

emerald???
I don't understand why Judith would use opaque emeralds...and then why not SAY they are opaque? A worthless stone ... not a precious gemstone. BUT it is a beautiful setting, and my stone is a very pretty color. I am just considering it jade (!) and enjoying it. Of course a good emerald would cost so much more, and I can wear this one without worrying about chipping, losing, hurting it like I would with a real emerald.
