This superb 75.47-carat Colombian emerald was once the property of Abdul Hamid II, Sultan of the Ottoman Empire (1876 – 1909), who according to legend, wore it in his belt buckle. Tiffany & Co. purchased the emerald at auction in 1911 and initially set it into a tiara, featured in the New York World's Fair "House of Jewels" exhibit in 1940. In 1950, it was mounted in its current brooch setting and featured on the first page of the Tiffany Christmas catalog. In its platinum setting, the Hooker Emerald is surrounded by 109 round brilliant and 20 baguette-cut diamonds, totaling approximately 13 carats.

Accurate Reproduction of the Hooker Emerald Brooch I was trying to decide on this version or the one sold by the Smithsonian. Remarkably, the QVC version is of a higher quality! Even though it is smaller than the original Hooker emerald brooch on display in the smithsonian collection, the reproduction is right on. I would highly recommend. 06-11-12

Poor Quality This pin/pendant has a beautiful green color, but the quality and workmanship are just not there. I sent mine back. 01-27-12

pin was defective I was surprised to see how the jewelry was presented - it was outstanding. I thought it looked beautiful - Christmas eve when I wanted to wear the pin I couldn't get the pin open. It looks like the mechanism was bent. Have to send it back. 12-26-11

Absolutely gorgeous! I received the pin/pendant and gasped out loud when I saw it. It is absolutely gorgeous and pictures don't convey how beautiful it is.
