Smithsonian Simulated Emperor Maximilian Emerald Ring
Gorgeous but too big & flashy for me.
A Big Bold Beauty but Overwhelming size is just more than I can "get away with". We do not dress for dinner or put on slinky dresses and go for cocktails at the club. I'm more the sweaters 'n slacks kind - lunch with my pals @ a local bakery.
I surrendered and sent it back in all good spirits. If you are a Big Bold Beauty yourself, this is the ring for you.
Pretty, but not for me
This ring is decent for a simulated ring. It definately has a presence, but it's just a little too bulky for thin fingers in my opinion. Also the side stones and prongs rubbed on the adjacent fingers a little. Back it goes.
Big, sparkly and showy! Perfect for dress up. FYI it took the same amount of time for this to arrive at my house (NYS) as it did for something I ordered from China on the same day
Love this ring with it's simple emerald cuts. I have the silver setting, so it has a contemporary look. This is a large ring and makes a big statement.
Gorgeous but, heavy. Kept shifting so sadly I had to return it.
Love it !
The ring is beautiful and is much larger than it appeared to me on t.v. Perfect for holidays (St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, etc.) and how about to wear to those Oz parties? I ordered the silver setting and I believe it makes the stones brighter. Thank you QVC and Smithsonian! I visited the Hall of Gems at the Smithsonian a few years back and now feel like I own a piece of history!
I got the silver setting and this is a big ring! The green is a beautiful deep color. I'm not much of a baquette fan, tho. I wouldn't wear this everyday, just on special occations.
Had to return . I ordered the earrings too and they were too small, did not look as real as on Tv . Did not need the ring without the earrings.
This is a big ring. A statement piece. I get lots of compliments. I do wish it were smaller. It is a dark, clear, stone. Very nice.
Elegant but a bit ostentatious!
The ring is beautiful, the green is luscious, but it is extremely BIG! I will probably keep it because I have long fingers, fairly large hands, and often wear larger rings, but it isn't for the faint-hearted! It is also a bit top-heavy, so be sure to get the right size; if it doesn't fit, the ascher-cut stone will slide around.
EMPEROR MAXIMILLIAN HAD GREAT TASTE!!!
I have short broad hands and I thought this would be too much ring for my hand; I was wrong. It is gorgeous!!! The saturation of the "emerald" is very intense and the side stones reflect light like no diamond baguette I have ever seen. I have several beautiful Colombian Emerald pieces and this rivals those. The side stones on my ring do not get in the way. I purchased my ring in the silvertone as that is the way the original ring in the Smithsonian looks.
I'm afraid I had to send this ring back. It is absolutely gorgeous! The stone is a beautiful color, exactly what I wanted. The side stones are also very pretty. But, the ring itself is HUGE! I am not a small woman, but this ring is so big, I'd feel like I was wearing a billboard. I was so sorry to see the size, as that is the only problem with the ring & would love to have kept it.
