The Spanish Inquisition Necklace consists of two strands of antique-cut diamonds and emeralds to which a lower pendant and upper chain containing modern, brilliant-cut diamonds were added. The necklace contains 374 diamonds and 15 emeralds. The emeralds came from Colombia, while the larger diamonds were from India, the only source of diamonds until 1723. The large, central, barrel-shaped emerald weighs approximately 45 carats and is strung onto the necklace through a hole drilled lengthwise down its center. The stones were probably cut in India in the 17th century, making them the earliest cut gems in the National Gem Collection.

Stunning These are a little pricey, but they are unbelievably stunning! The green stones are a lot prettier than I expected them to be. The depth of color is spectacular, and the "diamonds" are set so nicely that I think they are quite believable as a piece of fine jewelry. Very elegant and very formal. Not for casual wear, obviously, but for a special evening out, these can't be beat. They are a little heavy, but not uncomfortably so, and I tend to be very picky about that sort of thing, I'm also very allergic to base metal earrings, so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to wear these because they are "silver tone", and not real silver or gold, but I wore them all night without any problem, so I think the finish is really much better than they are getting credit for. These really do look like very high quality jewelry. If you have an elegant green dress to go with these, then they are a must! I think they even make my eyes look greener than usual! 02-21-14
Worst name ever The Spanish Inquisition was one of the most shameful periods in human history. Who thought it was a good idea to use it as a name for a pair of earrings? 02-19-14
Haute Couture Since this is the year of the BIG drop sparklie earring, I decided to order these and see if they looked good in person. They really do ! I have two gemstone emerald rings I received from my Mother and these are the same quality color. The earrings are long but lightweight. Try them, you will not be disappointed-- and boy, do they get compliments. 02-03-14
Exquisite style!! Absolutely adorable earrings, elegant and classy. They are for sure a keep!! 01-30-14
Name is strange Not sure why anyone would want to wear jewelry named after such a negative period in history. 01-22-14
A Bit Too Much They are pretty earrings, but I find them to be a bit too much. They would be fine if I were one of the housewives, but I am not. They are not silver, and I don't believe the faux emeralds are glass as they feel more like resin. I guess for those reasons, the earrings are not heavy at all. I must return them as I don't believe I will ever wear them. 08-01-12
classic These earrings are out of this world. Very well made. It looks like fine jewelry. Cabazon faux emerald stones look perfect. I hope they bring more breathing taking pieces like this.THANKYOU QVC. 01-03-12
First review EVER....just can't help myself! I received this breathtaking pair of earrings after requesting them as a Christmas gift. I knew, after watching the presentation on-air that they were beautiful, but I was not prepared for the magnitude of their beauty. OMG! I can't say enough -- the craftsmanship, individually set baguette and pave' simulated diamonds, let alone the perfectly colored faux emeralds. They are truly museum quality! I've already notified my husband that I must now begin a "Smithsonian" collection. Don't hesitate to purchase these! 12-26-11
Disappointed in quality These earrings weren't the quality I expected for the price. Stones were very nice, but the setting looked really cheesy. I returned them. 12-16-11
GORGEOUS These earrings are really very pretty. They hang at a good length and the simulated diamonds are cut and look just like fine diamonds, I was skeptical but they are worth the having a look at. These are keepers. Thank you QVC! 12-09-11
