About Stephen Dweck

Renowned jewelry designer Stephen Dweck's formal training began at the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied sculpture and painting. Designing hand-carved stone bangles was his initial foray into the jewelry world. In 1981, Stephen launched his first signature line at Bergdorf Goodman. It wasn't long until Geoffrey Beene asked him if he could spotlight his jewelry on the runway. Over the years, Stephen collaborated with designers including Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta, and Catherine Malandrino.

Intrigued by nature at an early age, Stephen Dweck learned to incorporate the elements into art and design. He collects stones from all over the world — tourmaline from Brazil, boulder opals from Australia, ammonites from Morocco, and pearls from the South Sea. A great deal of thought and effort goes into making each piece of jewelry, from sorting through thousands of stones to making the perfect setting.

Stephen's jewelry is on permanent display in the costume department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institute Fashion Archives. His Manhattan showroom features Stephen's belts, men's jewelry, serving ware, renovated furniture, and home collection.

A long-standing member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Stephen has worked on many noteworthy projects including "Absolute Dweck" for Absolute Vodka that incorporated his signature jewelry with their iconic bottle design. He was also commissioned by Bombay Gin to create a bronze and crystal martini glass.

All designs are produced and manufactured in Stephen's Brooklyn studio. Brothers Edmond and Gregory oversee the production, technology, marketing, and customer relations for the growing company. They hope to enjoy another 25 years of success.

Holy Smokes!! What an amazing, different piece. I opened the box (which frankly they could do without such paper and stuff) and was totally blown away! I added a few antique three stone wedding bands and it looks amazing. So glad it was cheap enough to try. Looks like an expensive upscale Soho piece that I would have never been able to touch. Ordered the two bangles on the last clicks as well. 07-25-13
Love it If you like dweck fortuna you will love this ring.. I love it. 06-24-13
Rhodium comes off I really like the design and concept of this ring, however the rhodium on silver wears off with a simple washing of the hands, only 3 days of wearing this ring most of the rhodium around the bottom to the top is almost gone, it looks like black and silver now. I can't believe quality assurance didn't catch this! I am keeping the ring simply because the design is compelling and I got it on a last clicks price but I ordered two other rhodium pieces from his collection that I will most likely return when I receive, good design, bad execution, don't do rhodium over silver please! or if you do make sure it doesn't rub off with a simple washing of the hands, thank you. 04-30-13

Love this Line This ring is another fave from this wonderful line. Love the combo on this one of the gold and diamonds and darkened silver. 11-08-12
Lovely piece This is my 7th Fortunate piece from Mr. Dweck. I love the simple elegance of the branch design. I have a design idea for the line... I would like a double baled pendant in a Y design, with one end of the bale being a two inch silver fortuna branch. The second bale would be the tail of a swallow in 14kt vermeil paved with .20 pts of white diamonds. The swallow would be landing on the branch in a graceful swoop. I have dreamt of it!! 10-31-12
Beautiful As Expected! I am a little particular when it comes to jewelry, especially rings. They must be durable and well-made and if it's unusual - all the better. A person buying this ring has to appreciate the truly different design of this jewelry because it isn't like all of the more abundant pieces floating around and you will not look like everyone else when wearing this ring. The black rhodium plating has a sheen to it in the direct sunlight and the citrines have a beautiful deep orange-yellow color to them, almost an amber color - beautiful. The diamonds are small but they do sparkle a lot. I also purchased the black rhodium plated chrome diopside ring and while I personally don't like it stacked next to this ring, I love it on its own. I am waiting for the silver with black diamonds to be delivered next. I am a new fan of Stephen Dweck! And Stephen if you are reading this, I would love to see variations of this beautiful ring in the future, maybe different color metals/plating with additional gemstones! :) 08-19-12
Depressing This ring was so dark, so depressing. It was not at all as edgy and exciting as on line. Plus, to add insult to injury, the size 6 that always fits me would not slide over my knuckle. Quite Depressing. It went back. Don't waste the effort, it is not worth the shipping cost, much less the price of of the ring. 08-17-12
Love It! This ring is so unique and so pretty. I love everything about it. The mix of citrine, diamonds, silver, black rhodium...it's like sunshine on a tree. I love one-of-a-kind and this ring certainly says that! I couldn't wait to see if it goes to clearance price, I am happy paying full price, it's worth it. 06-07-12
