About the Design

The central element of this necklace contains a square knot, which goes back to Roman times. During this era, sailors gave their wives rope knots to symbolize their promise for a safe return. The wives added decorations, and the knots became very personal over the years. When the sailors returned, they held the knots until the next voyage.

So glad I bought this! The enamel work on this is really wonderful and appears thick -- like it will never peel. The crystals could be a little more sparkly, but overall this is a beautiful pendant and is a bright, gorgeous blue. It is not small, either, and that makes it very wearable for me, since I don't go for little things around my neck. I am only about 5'3" and have a small neck, so it falls lower on me (about the center of my chest at its longest adjustment) than it might on other people. Despite my shortness, however, I am not a small person, and this pendant is a good size -- doesn't get lost. 03-09-12

compliments galore This is a beautiful,versatile necklace. Can be worn casually or more dressed up. I love the royal blue enameling. I always get compliments wearing this necklace. I will definitely purchase the matching earrings. The gold is a bit more yellow than most people may be acustomed to. I do not mind this at all, I think it is very pretty. would make a nice gift! very nice to wear everyday, or to work or church. 02-25-12

Beautiful new necklace Love the unusual square knot design on this necklace. It's a classy design, yet can be worn for daywear. The knot is a very deep blue, large enough to be seen, without being oversized. The chain is one of the nicest I've seen, and the gold/crystal beads add a defining touch to the entire piece. As always, fabulous workmanship by Camrose & Kross. Also ordered the matching earrings. Can't wait for them to arrive! 02-21-11
