Jacqueline Kennedy Simulated Lapis Bead Long Necklace
Not for me.
I returned this necklace. This is the only piece of jewelry I have ever returned. It could be good for someone else, but it was nothing like shown. Beads are like plastic and not flattering.
Simulated Lapis Bead Long Necklace
I have many JBK pieces. When I saw this one, I really wanted it but was reluctant to buy after seeing some of the reviews. I don't know if they modified or made corrections to the original piece but when I received this, it looked and felt beautiful. From the color of the gold, the color of the lapis and the way the entire necklace moved. The lapis beads were pretty and they were not stiff or in a weird position. The necklace looked just like this picture and I can't wait to wear it out. I wish they had a bracelet and earrings to match. I really enjoy the suites of jewelry that I have purchased even if I don't always wear everything at the same time, I just like knowing that I can switch the pieces out. A great piece to have! Very simple and elegant.
Am surprised at some of the reviews.....this piece has simplicity and an understated elegance....very nice piece
The necklace looked fine to me, the beads were the right color, etc. However, the necklace fell apart within three hours of my wearing it the first time! That's not right! One of the chains just fell out of one of the little round 'barrels'. Very disappointed in the quality.
Not strung correctly :-(
I love this necklace the gold is lovely and the beads are a beautiful color. However, as an earlier review said, the necklace is flat/squared at the bottom instead of rounded as in the picture & on the model and it looks VERY odd. The lapis beads should be flexible & flow like pearls but it's as if they've been strung on a stiff, straight wire. I want to try & exchange & see if I luck out and get one that was strung correctly. But that would be expensive for me to pay to 2 way postage exchange a faulty item, so not sure what I'm going to do.
~X~ So Disappointed ~X~
I too wanted to love this necklace, but am so disappointed. The lapis beads are grey looking while the gold color findings on each end of the beads do not lay straight. I'm sure the original is gorgeous ~ this isn't.
Though Jackie's jewelry was stored in velvet covered metal boxes, it isn't cost effective to do so for poor reproductions.I'd prefer a better product
This is really a nice necklace. I like the fact that it is a goldtone. Usually I see lapis in silver. I think it will look very nice layered with the paperclip necklace.
This one just didn't fill the bill for me. The quality is fine but on me, the necklace is square at the bottom instead of rounded as in the picture, and it reminds me of those long eyeglass holders worn around the neck. The colors are pretty but at this price it just did not have the wow factor I was looking for, so I will be returning it.
Even More Beautiful In Person...
This piece looked gorgeous on TV, but in person, oh MY! Even BETTER! It has definite presence to it, but it's understated enough to look great with jeans. The goldtone is rich and looks stunning with the blue beads. (Just one thing I'm confused about, though -- the listing here says "simulated lapis," but Philip Katz said it's genuine lapis. I'm just wondering if anyone can clear up that question.)
I was really wanting to love this necklace, I have been wanting something with Lapis. seeing it on QVC, I thought that it was going to be heavier and larger beads. It is light weight, small beads and cheap feeling. So dissappointed. Definatley not worth the money.
Just classically elegant
This is a wonderful, classic piece. Dresses up a plain shirt and everyday outfits. So basic that it goes with most everything but the quality and details make this necklace a very classy addition to any wardrobe.
Long and lovely. Pure class - just like Jackie. Not too heavy, well made, simply lovely and will go with anything.
