Rated 1 out of 5 by jeep girl Poorly Designed AC Unit
This AC unit has great potential, but the engineers of the product and QVC's Quality Control Department has done a disservice by passing this poorly designed product on to its customers. I thoroughly read the directions on how to attach the tubing to the unit, however it just does not fit properly and just when you think you have secured it, it pops off. It actually had me questioning myself, but after seeking additional assistance from a mechanic, he agreed, that it was poorly designed. Upon his recommendation, I went out and purchased duct tape to secure it. That was the only way for me to get the unit to work properly. I'm in my third month of owning the unit and on I my third roll of duct tape. Not sure why and how this passed inspection, but I would not recommend purchasing this unit unless you're a handy man.

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment that does not have air condition. I measured the square footage that I wanted to cool down. I can not sleep when it gets too hot so I decided to purchase an air conditioner. Since I do not regularly use both bedrooms I did not include them in my estimate of square footage. This was one of the air conditioners that matched my requirements.
I set the air conditioner to 70 degrees and it keeps my living room, dining area, kitchen and hall way nice and cool throughout the day. I often have to turn off the unit at night as it cools down to 66 degrees.
This unit does the job!
The installation instructions were easy to follow. I read the reviews before I purchased the unit and noted the issue with the exhaust hose falling off. I added a little duct tape to the exhaust hose as it did keep falling off the back of the unit. So, anyone planning to purchase this unit should have a roll of duct tape handy to solve this issue.
The unit is quiet and as such I don't need to increase the volume on my TV. I have it set in the living room as the best place for the unit and window combination.
So far so good! Having the unit operational for about a week now. I would recommend this unit for anyone needing area cooling.
I received the unit ahead of the scheduled delivery date which was cool too!

I am a mech contractor and although I got this to work I had to make changes to the adapter for the hose, When I first installed the adapter would not stay in place I looked at it and the locking mechanisms have tabs in front of the holes even after i fixed that it would not stay, so I used Metal duct tape it is now ok, As far as cooling ability I have it in a garage Aprox 450 sf and it takes forever to get down in temp and not by much. I would not recommend this to anyone unless they are handy enough to modify it.

This Air Conditioner does a fabulous job. We're a little bit older and it's very easy to set up since it's on wheels and keeps our entire downstairs cool. Highly recommend it.

We have central air but because we live in a two story colonial home the second floor is always on the warm side and a bit stuffy. We did not want to install a unit into the window. This was the next best thing. So easy to install just the vent port in the window and we turned it on. We just finished our second summer using this air conditioner. It has been wonderful. We set a timer for when we want it to turn on and off. It cools our upstairs (master bedroom, 2 children's rooms and our bathroom) so well. We did not have any significant increase in our electric bill to even take notice. This was a great purchase for our family.

I received it fairly quickly.. Installation was pretty challenging.. Wouldn't recommend an older person to instal alone. Product was also pretty heavy.. Other than that it sure works very well!!!

Overall, I am happpy with this unit. It was a replacement unit for a portable unit I had prior to this one.
It cools better so much so that I often have to turn it off because we get too cold. I personally like the convenience of the remote especially since we turn it on/off throughout the day.
The window installation was a complete pain. When I would get the window side secure, the unit piece would come loose. Round and round we went. Also, because the design is so touchy, I would not recommend moving the unit to keep the window/unit installation hose secure. The design on that part was pretty poor.
Like my other unit, the temp of the unit is not the same as the temp of the house.
And the bad on me:
I could have gotten this unit in town at a much more affordable price.

I ordered this a/c on June 30, 2014 and I received it on July 3, 2014 (even though QVC had the ETA at 7/10/14) I was thrilled with the fast shipping. Easy to install, although as mentioned before in other reviews the exhaust through the window is a joke, we will have to modify ours but nothing that a piece of plywood with a hole cut into it wont fix. I have this unit in an area that is about 400-500 sq feet and it is having NO problem cooling it , the compressor cycles on and off as needed. It cooled the room from 80 degrees to 73 degrees in less than an hour. Granted I have only had it for 24 hours, so far I love it!!!

I've waited over 1 year to post this to give a tried and true testimony. I purchased this a/c unit last year and it keeps my little 12x50 mobile home very cool. The home is a '70 model so very little insulation. I use a fan to move the cool air down the hall. All mine requires is a small/mop-like bucket behind it to catch the water from the humidity. You don't even notice the bucket from the front and in southern Ohio we have a lot of humidity. The exhaust goes through the chute in the window. I also do not use any other electrical appliances on the circuit so as to not overload anything. The maintenance is a breeze and no filters to buy. I only use the cooling mode and keep it on 74. And the noise level is actually less noticeable than the old window contraption that it replaced. Don't ride the fence on this one. It will be your loss!

I am so pleased with the output of cool air! Had a small problem with window installation, but once everything was installed, no problem!

I do not understand how people can say that this unit is hard to install!!! A monkey with a screwdriver could install this. As for the ability to chill a space....well it's just fine!! The casters on the bottom enable it to move very smoothly. The remote also has the ability to become a handheld t-stat!!!GREAT UNIT!!

Wow, I ordered my A/C on Friday and it was on my porch this morning, fantastic!! Man I love this a/c. It is cooling great!!
I read the reviews on here before I ordered and I figured that I could fix the exhaust hose if I needed to but it seems to be doing fine. I'll admit that it should be better but it's nothing that I can't handle. The main thing is that it cools so good and it's not a heat pump - I hate heat pumps.
Those having problems with water need to leave their unit on cool. If you put it on Humidify or Auto, it runs the humidifier and you'll have to worry about the drain. My a/c has been running for hours on Cool mode with zero problems.
I love this a/c QVC and the Easy Pay - thank you!!
