I bought these in the ivory color. I would not burn tapers, just because of the fire hazard. These give me the same pleasure and no worries. I agree they dont look exactly like the real thing but they look great.

Don't Come Close to Looking Real
If you expect these to realistically imitate real taper candles, you'll be disappointed. You can see the outline of the batteries and the lighting mechanism right through the wax. I could live with the hidden "flame" and accept the buried glow of the LED light, but being able to see the batteries and inner mechanism of the candles through the plastic/wax was just too unrealistic for me. I returned them.

Fantastic candle concept!
Whom ever thought of this type of flameless candles deserves a huge bonus! I first bought two sets (I needed 3 candles) for the top of my new dresser, which is marble, with a big ornate mirror. I had bought three mercury designed candle holders all different heights. At night, against the mirror, it reflects to look like 6 candles! Then, my dining room hutch has a lot of glass in front. It is also deep, which I like because of all my dishes and crystal, but at night, unless I would turn on the regular bulb, I cannot see inside. So, I put these (2) in my pewter candlestick holders in the hutch. Granted, it is not as light as a regular bulb, but lights it up enough to see inside. Also, I have a big breakfront in the living room, all glass except wood at corners and top. I put these-2- beside an ornate sterling silver platter. They glow off the sterling at night. If I don't put on the brakes, I could buy some for every room in the house! LOVE THEM!

Very Realistic!!!!!!
Beautiful candles, but I wish they came with batteries. I was disappointed that for the price, there were no batteries. I felt like a kid at Christmas with a toy I couldn't play with.. Batteries Please even if they are Cheap batteries from the $ store!

I just love these
I have purchased several sets - have them all over the house and just love the look- they look good during the day and great at night lit up. Batteries last a very long time even with the timer on every night.

It's About Time
I only use flameless candles, and have wanted a taper for ages. When I found these I bought 2 sets, and they are great. I liked them so much I ordered 2 more for a birthday persent. I would like to see them come in Autum, and Christmas colors. I would be nice to have year round colors.

Great Taper Candles
Like most of the reviewers before me, I only wish that they came in more colors - a pastel pink, blue, and yellow for spring and red and green for Christmas, etc.

Just one word -
PERFECT!!! I was very concerned about "flameless" taper candles. Would they look good or very fake! I have many "flameless" pillar candles that I love but tapers were a bit of a worry. These are perfect! I have a 130 year old Italianate Mansion that I am restoring so I was concerned about the "look" - couldn't be happier and now no more dripping wax or buying tons of new candles. Very happy!!! The latex rings are amazing and work beautifully for the perfect fit. Only one problem - I now need 13 more sets for the other candelabras I have in the formal rooms!!!! LOL

Love these in my windows
I bought 6 of these candles for the front windows in my house. I followed the advice of reviewer Lesia, and used them with the suction cup clips, item number H16768. I goofed at first and tried to position the clip halfway up the candle, which scarred it a bit. All you have to do is fasten the clip to the base of the candle, then suction to your window. I got the ivory candles and they are very pretty, with a soft, subtle flickering light. Really nice!

Love them!!
I purchased a set of these in white a handful of months ago. I have large hurricane glass lamps in Williamsburg that I had regular taper candles in. I bought these to use instead and they come on in the evenings on our parson's table and go off after we go to bed. They are quite lovely. Yes, the top part does light but that is a part of battery operated candles. And I do not find the silver bottoms look cheap.. they are just fine. I have had no problems with these candles and have had compliments by everyone who sees them. Would definitely tell anyone to purchase these.
