Love these birds I think the white version is even cuter than the blue version shown. These are very substantial in weight and have a nice handmade quality about them--like they just came off a pottery wheel. Very happy with my purchase. 04-23-13

Cute & Personable Little Corncrakes! These little bird s&p shakers are adorable! They are sturdy and the quality of the workmanship is evident as soon as you hold them in your hand. I bought the green, and the glaze has interesting black flecks in it. The birds have such appealing faces! As indicated in the online photo, one bird is stretched out taller, and the other is a bit on the chubby side. The wings on the birds are done in a beige tone -- maybe the actual color of the clay -- and their little loopy tails with almost a ruffled look are my favorite part! I like that they are a tribute to the Corncrake bird, too, which is native to Ireland and is now threatened with global extinction. Thanks very much to the Ballymorris pottery for these very special birds that flew all the way from Ireland to add personality to my kitchen! 07-06-12
