I purchased these to add to floral arrangements I've created and add emergency light when our power fails. You can only have so many floral arrangements in your home before it looks over done. The wire is very thin, and pliable. I've wound and interspersed them in my hydrangea designs giving a diffused look by placing the blubs behind the flower blooms. It give a lot of light because the bulbs are bright, even though small.
I have not tried to submerse them as yet. I may during the holidays. The only thing I would like to see is a different easier latch to the control box. I know it needs to be snug since it's submersible, but I had to use a butter knife to open the box the first time. Now I can have it slightly open tucked in the arrangement or close it without problems.
I highly recommend this for adding to any arrangement of faux fruit, flowers, or where we want to add light. In fact, I'd love to see Bethlehem Lights create a faux fruit arrangement that has lights in the fruit and can be place in wire baskets. I've only had them a few days so I'm anxious to see how well the batteries last.

These particular light strands are just what I've been looking for - extremely thin wires in plain green (not metalic) color. The lights are extremely bright, too. I hope they become available in other colors.
