About QVC Sheets

Thread count refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. Thread count alone does not ultimately determine softness, but it does predict the weight and airflow of the fabric. All QVC sheet sets offer a minimum thread count of 300, with select sets measuring in with a thread count as high as 1,000.

Fast Facts
A sheet with a high thread count may not yield a softer sheet. Softness comes from a combination of factors including the weave, type of cotton, treatments (such as an anti-wrinkle coating), and thread count. Depending on the manufacturing processes, sheets that contain a thread count of 300-400 can be as soft or softer than one with a thread count of 1,000.

Traditional Blend
The traditional blend utilizes cotton's natural ability to allow fabrics to breathe and wick away moisture. This blend mixes long and short fibers when twisting them into threads.

Egyptian Cotton
Widely considered to be one of the highest qualities of cotton available, Egyptian cotton is grown in Egypt and consists of fibers which are longer, resulting in a silkier thread.

Supima® Cotton
This is the name used to promote textile and apparel products made with 100% American Pima cotton, grown in the southwestern United States. The staple length of Supima is 35% longer than regular cottons. This increases softness and luster. And since fewer fiber ends are exposed, it minimizes the effects of abrasion, resulting in less pilling. The Supima trademark is a registered trademark of Supima Association of America.

The type of weave and construction used for sheets can vary from ornamental to something functional. Variations in weave and fiber used in sheet construction will affect the characteristics of the cloth. Some fibers and constructions will breathe more and other combinations can keep you warm and cozy.

Consists of a twill weave with threads layered over one another, exposing a longer thread on the fabric surface. Imparts a smooth, silky feel against the skin.

Made with a balanced and closely woven plain weave. The percale construction is both durable and smooth to the touch. Sheets made with 100% cotton percale feel smooth and crisp to the skin.

Pique sheets are designed to achieve a textured appearance with a soft touch. Its high and low texture is created during the knitting or weaving processes. Pique construction is made by spinning two yarns together to create a stronger yarn that's soft and supple.

Wrinkle Defense® Technology
The Wrinkle Defense process is designed to decrease the appearance of wrinkles for up to 50 wash cycles. It provides a durable, soft, and smooth sheet surface when the care instructions (included) are properly followed.

Flannel is a material that's woven and put through a brushing process that lifts the threads to create air pockets that impart a soft and fuzzy feel. When comparing flannel sheets, look for weight rather than thread count. A quality flannel material is in the 5-6 oz range.

Jersey Knit
Threads in a jersey knit material are knit around one another rather than woven. This construction gives the fabric some stretch (or "give") for a soft and comfortable feel. It feels like sleeping in your favorite T-shirt!

Polyester is often used in this sturdy and durable material with manmade threads. It's also easy to care for, has fewer wrinkles than comparable sheets, and looks great with prints and bright colors. Sheet sets with a higher weight are often brushed for a soft, suede-like feel.

This fabric is soft, comfortable, warm, dries quickly, and is durable for long-lasting good looks.

Jacquard refers to both a type of loom weave and the cloth produced by such looms. The jacquard process allows for intricate designs and textures to be woven into the material itself.

One of the oldest manufactured fibers dating back to the 1880s in France, rayon was originally developed as an alternate to silk and has a naturally smooth and soft texture. The material has strong moisture-wicking properties to help keep you cool and comfortable.

H192267 - Northern Nights Grace SuperChunky Flannel QN Sheet Set 4.2 5 5 5
Here on the central Oregon Coast... ...we sleep on flannel all year round. 1st and 2nd set were chocolate and ivory. Buying my 3rd and 4th set. There's only ivory left but that's okay. Love that the Q lists the WEIGHT of this flannel, it's how flannel lover's judge quality. It should be listed for ALL flannel sheets the Q sells. They're thick, cozy and fit well. Grabbing 2 more sets before they're gone! 04-05-12
Warm & so soft These are the softest sheets & very chunky. I bought the red and they are beautiful. I bought a couple more sets for family since I liked the first set so much... 12-18-11
Soooo COZY!!! These are the nicest flannel sheet set I have ever bought! But make sure you wash and dry first before putting on your bed. I'm so satisfied I'm going to order another set. Also because they have 16" corners on the bottom fitted sheet. I just love them and Northern Nights for providing them. They sure keep ya warm on those really cold nights! 11-25-11
AWESOME These are the softest and warmest flannel sheets I have ever owned. The fit is excellent for my thick mattress and a great night's sleep. 11-12-11
so soft, so mixed When I first felt these sheets, I was blown away by their softness. The chocolate is a very, very rich color. The bottom sheet fits well over a regular mattress with a basic featherbed. the problem is that the top sheet and the pillowcases are soft and luxurious, and remained that way after a week of sleep. The bottom sheet is thinner and has so many pills it is really not comfortable to sleep on. I wonder if the top and bottom sheets are both the same weight. The top sheet is almost consistent w/ 6.0 ounce flannel, while the bottom sheet is among the worst, thinnest, "pilliest" that I have encountered anywhere, including discount stores. My question again, is "Where is Quality Control?" If the bottom sheet matched the top sheet in quality, I would give these sheets 12 stars. 11-07-11
