I have two of these units (for 2 years). These little AC units cools my master bedroom like a champ. I have the other unit downstairs in the family room. The one downstairs keeps the family room comfortable, which is saying alot considering it's actually cooling down the family room and maintaining a comfortable level in the living room. The secret is to have a couple of fans circulating the air. However, it's too big of a space for just one unit. That's why I'm ordering another one. I can't say enough about these AC units. Just make sure to clean the filter and the evaporator coil every year to maintain peak performance. You'll have to take off the back cover to get to the evaporator. And for the record people, it is a mechanical device that compresses and blows air. You will never get a packaged unit like this that is "whisper quiet", unless you stick the machine outside.

Save us from summer heat
This is our second year with this product. We use it just about every summer day, it has never given us any problems. We absolutely love it. We live in a large 2 story home. Our central air was not working on the first floor. We placed in on the first floor and it cools the area which is about 1200 square feet of connected space. When it is really hot, like 100 degrees outside we also use a portable fan, just so that the air circulates faster. I am really happy we bought it and have no complaints.

Not Cool!
Bought this last year on the TSV and am very disappointed with it. It takes forever to cool any area and then does not take care of the heat. If I could return it...I would.

Purchase this
I have had this unit for only three days, but it works exactly the way it should. I am a single senior so it was a little challenging to get it unpacked. But once out of the box the rest was a piece of cake. All direction are clearly written so easy to understand. I live in an open designed apartment with a window unit so using this to cool the bedroom half. I turned it on and set the temp and let it cool. Does a fantastic job. Actually had to reset temp and lower fan speed. Of course have not tried the heat setting, but anticipate it will help lower my gas bill.
I would give this unit a 5 but for the hose. Would like to suggest a more flexible hose between the attachments. The attachments go on the way they should, but the hose is very stiff to try to position for convenience.
Absolutely buy this if you are looking for a portable unit.
