H04735 - Bethlehem Lights Natural Series Prelit 9' Slim Fraser Fir Tree
NEVER BUY ANOTHER BL TREE
We bought the 9ft Bethleham Lights tree a few years ago. That first year we had trouble with the lights and every year since. Now starting from the top section after section will not light. We checked everything and can not find the cause.we had it to long to return so BL said send them the lights and they would replace them. Now BL lights are hand wired to the branches with silverish and green wire. It took my husband and me9 working hours to remove all of the lights. We sent them to BL and now they will not replace the lights. WE WILLNEVER BUY ANOTHER BETHLEHAM LIGHTS TREE AGAIN! THEY ARE JUNK! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Not Worth The Money
I purchased this tree in the 6'1/2 foot size. Was very sparse for the money and the branches where to stiff to arrange to cover the holes. Unfortunetally I purchased it before Christmas and only opened the box when I was ready to put it up.
Not what I expected
I was very excited about receiving the tree. On the show, set up was so easy & performed by a small lady. The tree looked full and beautiful. I spent over 2 hrs. putting it together and tracking down lights that were damaged or blown. We have purchased artifical trees before and NEVER had blown bulbs when we set up the tree. It's so skimpy--would never have bought this tree after I set it up. It's not quite as bad as Charlie Brown's Christmas tree but it is definitely not up to the standards of other products I've bought from QVC. This is my last purchase of a tree without seeing it first. It's a pain to return or I would have returned when I took it out of the box.
Pre-lit has its drawbacks
I bought this tree in the 7 1/2 foot version. It is a lovely tree - more life-like than your average permanent tree. I purchased mine in Nov. 2008, so this is the 3rd Christmas I have used it. I set it up yesterday and two of the strings of lights do not work. I tried replacing the fuses, but they are nearly impossible to remove! Anyway - once lights go out on a pre-lit tree, they are difficult to remove, and have to be replaced. The pre-lit tree becomes just like the old-fashioned kind - winding strings of lights on it by hand, wires draping between the gaps, etc. Don't expect your pre-lit tree light to last forever. Once they go out, the lights on a pre-lit tree are even more of a hassle to deal with than regular tree lights.
I purchased this tree last year and when I put it up this year one row of lights doesn't work. I contacted Bethlehem Lights and their solution is to send me a strand of lights. If I wanted to put lights on a tree I would not have purchased a PRELIT TREE. I will never buy any of their items again. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TREE!
NOT THICK AT ALL!
This tree is not thick at all! Big holes in it everywhere! It took forever to shape. The stand broke. It's going back! Such a pain to take it down and send back!
Love This Tree
I needed a tree that would fill vertical space and not take up a lot of floor space. This is the perfect tree for me! I have had mine for three (or four!) years and it looks and lights as it did when it was new. When the tree is set up it needs to be "fluffed" a bit as do all artificial trees. The sparseness that other reviewers have mentioned is actually a plus for someone like me who has tons of ornamnets collected over the years...my tree is loaded with ornaments and the ample spaces allow them to hang freely and be displayed beautifully. I have also purchased the Valerie Parr Hill beaded garlands to wrap to the inside portions of the tree to fill in any spaces and pick up the light. I really love this tree and would not hesitate to purchase it again. If you are space challenged and ornament crazy like me, this is the perfect way to decorate!
Let me start by saying this is the ONLY Bethlehem tree I have disliked. I have two others and are truly pleased. That being said...assembly was not difficult but did not result in a STABLE or STRAIGHT tree. No matter what we did it remained crooked and we too, like some others had to resort to putting screws into the bottom; otherwise it just fell on the floor. One whole section did not light, and the pole was difficult to hide due to the sparseness of the tree itself. Unfortunately for us, in the past we have had nothing but great experiences with QVC and threw the box away immediately. (We bought the bag to put it in that was recommended at the time). We had no luck finding a box large enough to send it back...so we are stuck! This just did not seem like a Bethlehem lights tree!
Best Price Out There
The price was definitely right as I didn't find a better deal anywhere (not to mention easy pay!) I agree with others that the branches are a bit sparse compared to other (more expensive) brands, but you sure get A LOT of lights and you can fluff it out quite a bit of you work at it. I plan to buy extra tinsel next year. I wouldn't give it as a gift for that reason as that might bother some people, but I was really happy with my tree. Really nice not to be cleaning up needles this year, too.
meets the need
needed to replace our tree at the last minute; after shopping around, ordered bethlehem lights
branches are lovely, but it is a bit sparse; once the ornaments are on, not too bad, but can see straight thru to the other side!
lots of lights, which is a plus
We had no trouble putting the tree up, but it was crooked and wobbly. At first I was so upset and disappointed and considered sending it back. We took it down and tried two more times to get it more stable. The third section didn't seem to be fitting correctly and wouldn't slide all the way into the second section. After examining it more carefully, I discovered that the groove in the metal wasn't a crimp to make it slimmer, but actually had to be lined up with a bump in the lower section. After we solved that problem. it went up nice and straight. I looked at the directions again and they mentioned the groove, but not the corresponding bump. It's a different look for us (we had a 9 foot prelit noble fir for years which was so heavy and unweildy that we intentionally chose something more manageable). Also, I was a bit put off by the cords all going in a bunch down to the bottom of the tree, but the alternative of connecting to each other all over the tree is what we had on our old tree and when a string went out it was a difficult problem to find where the problem was. Also, the cords don't show after the decorations are on. I put all the decorations on that I used to have on my fuller tree and it looks fabulous. There are plenty of open spaces to accomodate larger and dangling balls. Except for the early frustration I am really very happy with the tree. Maybe someone from Bethlehem lights could see about having the directtions clarified.
this tree is so real looking it fools everyone. I did an earthy tree, pinecones, owls, feathers, birds and jute rope for garland. it is so gorgeous
