What a Gem for Cookbook Collection
Travel extensively. Love collecting cookbooks from everywhere I've been. This is a great sampling of our southern cuisine.

Missing flavor
I have tried two recipes and there seem to be some major components of flavor missing. I tried the lemon Chicken and the lemon sauce was bitter! I tried a hashbrown bake and there was no salt listed in the recipe and it was bland beyond words. I was so discouraged i wrote to Southern Living. I don't think these recipes were tested well.

Excellent presentation
This is a beautiful book of delectible sounding recipes (haven't tried yet). Only negative is in trying to maneuver it. Spiral bound would have been great.

I love this cook book. Has a lot of good recipes in it. They are very easy
to cook.

Great Book
Fantastic recipes!!! Easy to follow....there are some things that may not be in the pantry, but no biggie!! I have tried several recipes in the book!! Family loved them...This book is great for weekday cooking and if you are in a hurry!! One of the best cookbooks in my collection.
Would like to see it spiral bound so it will lay flat on the counter!!!

One the worst cook book layouts
This book had one of the worst layout in book I have ever seen. I returned the book because the recipes were the worst I have seen, not one in whole book was worth while.

Not what I expected
I was disappointed in this book - many of the ingredients not in my cupboards. Although I will say the side dishes I loved - got some great ideas. I prefer the "Choose This" Cookbook from Chris Freytag F09219 over this one. More down to earth/common dishes.

"Another #1 from Southern Living"
This is great for anyone on a time schedule. Great recipes for the very busy families who want tasty food in a hurry. I love this cook book!

Quick & Easy
This was my first cookbook purchase from QVC. I made the meatloaf last week with the side kick (delicious) and the Italian Pot Roast (slow cooker) with the side kick yesterday (5/6/12). The gravy was DELICIOUS!! Overall I'm happy with my purchase..Looking forward to making the pizza cups...

not what i expected
After watching the presentation, I thought I would like the recipes that were presented. It turns out they were about the only ones I would probably have made for my family.
I returned this book right away.

Not What I Expected
Not for me at all. I bought it for the slow cooker recipe . They are mostly tomato based . Due to medical problems most of my food must be very soft , non spicy and in sauce. Allergic to tomatoes , nuts . I cannot make substitutions. Back it goes . The photos are wonderful however .
