F09614 - "Rosie's Bakery: All-Butter, Cream-Filled, Sugar-Packed"
Fortget the pictures this is a wonderful cookbook
Really pictures......... it is the content that counts . Some people just need something to complain about or there not happy. The receipes are easy and delicious.
Great book, even without pictures
I have to wonder how spoiled the younger generation is when they don't like something because there are no pictures. Most of my original cookbooks don't have pictures. All the very special church and group cookbooks don't have pictures. Do you not have an imagination... or do you really need a picture? Baking is about creativity anyway - not copying the picture. This book is great - even without pictures.
Good book just needed a better editor
It's true there are no pictures but there are a lot of recipes for the price. I'd rather have the recipes and not pay more for pictures I don't need. I agree though; it should have been diclosed by QVC that there were no photos. I did make some of the recipes and they were very good. There were too many words for recipes that were really not that complicated. I could see how other reviewers got scared off from trying to bake, just skim the instructions and stick to proportions.
OMG Love this Cookbook
I have already made several of the recipes here and let me tell you that this is one of the best baking cookbooks I own. Unlike other reviewers not having pictures doesn't bother me. My family has enjoyed everything I have made from this cookbook so far. Don't take my word just make one of the recipes and you will be blown away by how easy it is to make and the melt in mouth experience when you eat it. Worth every penny.
Very unhappy with this cookbook! No pictures. I feel that's what makes a good cookbook.
Because if it looks good it should taste good.
I too, had wished that David had mentioned the "no pictures" in the cookbook. Who prints a cookbook without pictures? As the other revewers stated, I too like to see what I'm baking. I'm excited about the recipes, but the pictures would have made it a 5 star rating.
One of the great dangers of living in the Boston area as I do is the high risk of addiction to Rosie’s wares. Names like Chocolate Orgasm and Double Whammy lure the unwary in and with a few bites there is no hope of resistance.
I went right to these two recipes in Rosie’s Bakery All-Butter, Cream-Filled, Sugar-Packed Baking Book.
Wow! While they were not as good as the real thing, my 21 year-old daughter and her three friends wanted to know where they could buy more of them. “Dad” she told me. “You could never do anything like this! It’s just another one of your bad jokes!”
Rosie's latest book is incredible! Who needs pictures when you have Rosie's amazing recipes and cravings for irresistible sweets? Bakers who rely on pictures to assess a cookbook's worth are like readers who buy books for their covers--uninformed and not really interested in what's inside. For beginning or advanced bakers, this book is a must-have collection of luscious treats, clearly written and containing accessible recipes to anyone with a sweet tooth.
In addition to tried and true recipes, a hallmark of Judy Rosenberg's timeless dessert repertoire, I love that Rosies Bakery cookbook is filled with humor, love, and memories of a sweet life. It's a joy to read as well as to bake from.
There are plenty of books with pictures around--try the children's section of your nearest bookshop or library.
This book taught me how to bake!
I have always been a cook. I never loved baking before but the step by step instructions in this jam-packed book, helped me make the most delicious brownies. This book will be my baking bible. Thank you!
This cookbook is a waste of money. It has NO pictures and the recipes call for several items and I feel that you are constantly looking through the book to find the recipe for the filling that in turn goes to the recipe for the cake, and or etc. The food looked delicious on the show when aired but sorry to say this book was shelved at my house. save your money, this is a waste.
No pictures at all. The recipes have so many ingredients, you get disscouraged just reading them all. This is not for the normal everyday cook. This might work for a pro bakery chef. A waste of my money.
No Pictures !?
So far I haven't tried any of the recipes. Mostly because I usually decide whether I want to make something after I look at the picture & there are NO pictures.
