F09560 - "Lidia's Italy in America" Cookbook by Lidia Bastianich
Bella Italiano !
I absolutely Love this book ! I hesitate to call this a "'Cookbook", because it's more than that. The pictures and stories of her family, coming to America, and the love of food that Lidia shares with us in this book are delightfull. There are many recipes in here that bring back wonderfull, yummy memories from my own Nana. I opened it, and didn't put it down for HOURS ! ! ! Don't hesitate - you will love it, too ! ..nana/Toni
Another Great by Lydia
I received this cookbook for Christmas, and can't say enough good things about it! I read cookbooks like books, and couldn't put it down. The recipes are delicious, reminds me of my family recipes. The stories show you how much Lydia cares for her family, and loves her Italian heritage. Thank you a million times over Lydia.
Just Like Grandma's Cooking.....WONDERFUL!!!!!
I love this cookbook and Lidia!! Reminds me how my grandma used to cook! Almost the same style and recipes! Brings back great memories!!! Thank you Lidia for the memories, the great food, and this great book!! Should be six stars!!!!!!
I'm not really a cook so I keep buying these recipe books especially Italian that's why I ordered this book but I was so disappointed when I received it. Like the other customer said ". This book is more of a journal of her travels. There's more about the places she's been than actual receipes".
Great Italian-American Recipes!
I just received Lidia's new cookbook in the mail last week and I am already in love with it. Lidia truly takes you on a trip throughout Italian-American communities all over America. And there are so many great recipes to choose from that are not only delicious but easy to make. It also makes a great gift for the holidays!
Love, Love, Love this Book!
I love watching Lidia on television and have many of her cookbooks but this one is full of mouthwatering, EASY recipes that scream family and home! The stories of the Italian immigrants is an added plus. Definitely a cookbook that everyone can enjoy!
It's nice to have this book that will accompany Lidia's new PBS series that I enjoy watching every Saturday. If you are a Lidia fan I recommend purchasing this book.
Love This CookBook
I just received my cookbook. I loved reading all the places she has been to. I myself have been to Italy. Love watching her on QVC. This is my second Lidia cookbook. The first one is Lidia's Italian-American Kitchen. Both books are completely different.
I would highly recommend this book. I am an Italian, and liked the receipes that I cook, made a little differently. Also, she resembles a little bit like my mother.
I am very happy with this purchase. I watch Lidia's shows all of the time and enjoy them. The book helps because it gives measurements and the show does not.
This book is marvelous...had a pasta party at my house, chose to make the Basic Marinara....huge hit...I love Lidia...she is an amazing cook. And I love how this book is formatted. The best of what cooking has to offer in America....superb job. Thank you Lidia, and may God give you health so you can continue your mission of education home cooks like me to excel in Italian cookery.
LOVE THIS BOOK
I like to cook Italian dishes and that is why I purchased this book. I love watching Lidia on TV and the way she explains each recipe. This book does the same. There is a story behind some of the recipes which helps in the preparation of each dish. I have been cooking for over 60 years and you're never too old to learn new ways of cooking. It was worth the purchase price and then some.
Nice book...but more of a journal or her travels
I can't say that I would or wouldn't recommend this book. It depends on what you are looking for. I bought two. One for me and one for a large Italian basket I am building for my mother in law. This book is more of a journal of her travels. There's more about the places she's been than actual receipes. It will look nice sitting in that huge basket of Italian foods I'm putting together but I doubt it will get much use. Sorry...but I'm just not that thrilled with it. I had to have a custom cabinet built in my kitchen for all of my cookbooks (between 250-300 cookbooks) and I cater so I'd like to think I have some idea of what I'm talking about. Just my opinon~
