It does feel like you are jumping with a real rope. I think it is great for the living room. The DVD has three levels - beginners, intermediate & advanced. The instructor reviews the basics and there is a warm up. Level one is four, two minute segments with 30 second breaks in between. Intermediate and advanced are three, three minute segments with 30 second breaks. The beginner left me sweating, and I've worked out for years. There are no modification so if you can't jump for the full two minutes in the beginning, I would suggest marching in place. Also, there is no cool down. I followed the work out with 1 mile from Leslie Sansone "Walk away" system and used her cool down. Work out complete in less than 30 minutes. All in all a good system and one that I will put into my weekly rotation. And, I think the men will like it, too.
