Not happy
I got this orginally in November and had to send it back it just playing my blu ray disks. It also got really loud at play back. Qvc did send me a replacement in January. I was hopping that it was just a bad unit. I am now sending this one back as well. It is now not playing the blu ray wouldn't even load it. I did try it with three different disks. I have had Pioneer products before and love them. I also like Sony so the replacement for this is the Sony.

Slow
This thing takes forever to load a bluray and has seized up on me a couple of times to where I had to unplug it and let it power down, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in and hope everything was ok, so on the software side of things for this to have the elite name is bogus. I will say it does a good job at upconverting dvd to 1080p and the blurays look great but it's just so slow at loading or if you have a bluray in it and turn it on it may take a couple minutes to eject the bluray so you can swap them out. Also netflix on this runs choppy at best, my ps3 does a much better job with netflix than what this ever could and trying to use youtube on this and search for internet videos on youtube is a real pain. I am very disapppointed in this product and would advise people to stay away from it.

Nice player but poor features
I bought this because I owned a Pioneer Elite Laserdisc and Receiver. Unfortunately this Elite Blu-Ray player doesn't compare to my older Pioneer hardware. I was very surprised at how light this box is. Perhaps the new components are much lighter but I still like the heftiness of the older Pioneer products. I think the Oppo Blu-Ray player is hefty too. Additionally the interface and internet apps on this device are really poor. Pioneer really needs to upgrade the interface and offer more apps (only Netflix, YouTube and Pandora are available). Finally the remote is worthless. The buttons are very small and in a dark room it's impossible to read the buttons. Pioneer does offer a cool iPhone app to control this player but I had so many problems with the app recognizing the player I just gave up. The only thing I liked about this is the quality of the picture. No complaint with the picture. It's a fair purchase at a pretty good price. Better players available though.
