WOW WORKS GREAT LOVE IT..
I PURCHASED THIS GPS TO REPLACE AN OLDER ONE, THIS ONE WAS SO EASY AND WORKS GREAT I TOOK A TRIP TO WV AND I WAS ON SOME ROADS THAT SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ROADS, AND IT FOUND THEM ALL. WE WAS LOOKING FOR GOLD IN THEM MOUNTAINS AND WE WAS NEVER LOST..
AND THE LANE ASSIST WORKS GREAT LOVE THE VIEW OF THE EXIT'S ON A SPLIT SCREEN

Garmin 2555 lmt
This unit is horrible.Couldn't find addresses at myrtle beach.My wifes magellan took us to doorstep of our hotel.Hard to search for addresses.Liked my first Garmin but this one is garbage.

Best money I ever spent for my car
I LOVE this GPS!! I've never owned one before and after buying this I don't know why. It is awesome. Not only for trips but for every day. I love the fact that it shows your speed as well as the posted spend limit. I almost bought a cheaper one and I'm so glad I didn't. It's easy to use!

Love This Garmin
This unit replaced a very old Garmin and I love the many improvements over the old one. There was no problem with the Lifetime Maps set up since I did FOLLOW THE GARMIN DIRECTIONS from the get-go. If set up correctly, there will be up to 4 updates per year for FREE from Garmin. The responsibility is on the user to install Lifetime Updater and follow all instructions. The LIfetime Maps feature is the main reason I chose this unit. Also, the bigger screen size is wonderful for those of us needing a little help in the vision dept. I would definately recommend this unit.

LOVE MY GARMIN
Live in the Boston area. Loving my Garmin (and Carmen who speaks the directions to me). Screen size is great, as is the split screen feature, love the traffic feature too. Just feel so much more secure having the Garmin.

Don't expect LIFETIME maps
I've tried getting an up date but it tells me that I have to buy the map, mmm didin't it say FREE LIFETIME MAPS? Don't expect it. II have to say though that the Garmin is better thanmy previous one T--T_m. Garmin tells me exactly where I want to go and even tells you if your destination is on your right or left.
But I can't get any "FREE MAPS" thats my only problem other wise if you're willing to pay $89.00 for a "free" map then get it. It's a fine GPS.

Worst Garmin ever
What a shame. I was so excited about this gps.. It is my third Garmin. Loved the other two. This one is horrible.. No favorites. Too hard to navigate thru screens couldnt figure out how to put names for each address I didn't like anything about it so it is going back.
My last Garmin was the best. Easy to program without a manual...really wanted lifetime maps but this is not worth it.

Great product!
I never thought I wanted a GPS until a friend brought one along when I drove us on a short trip. I liked it so much I ordered one for myself...and just used it on a "road trip" with my grandsons. Today my daughter is borrowing it for another short road trip. I don't have any complaints about the product, but wish it had come with a compact user's manual. A user's manual is available online, but I would have liked one to take with me on my first trip as I was (and still am) learning all the features of the product.

save your money
this is my 2nd Garmin and loved my 1st but not this one....i had to go to New York City and thought this would be more up to date then my 2008 model....Wrong, trying to find my way out of the city and back to home route was TERRIBLE..it kept losing the connection and when it did come back it told be to go the same way I started...it had me going around in circles in the city and if anyone has been in NYC at 6PM there you dont want to be lost nor have to turn around 3 times..and then when it came time when the road wiould split and you have to turn it would tell you 1 millermeter of a second to take Right when you are in left lane. Thank god there was not traffic....One good thing i can say is, it got me there but once I hit the CITY....Good bye to getting me there...Do not buy this and save yourself from getting lost and upset...I dont know how this is rated #1,,,,,,its going back...(but Im not using the GPS directions to send it back) bc it would not make it.....lololol

Perfect Upgrade
I just purchased this GPS to replace my Nuvi 1300. I am thrilled at the choice I made. This model features a changable "dashboard" so you have options of what you see on your map. (ex. Speed, Time, Time of Arrival, etc) The options on this model is endless. I love my toys and I do a lot of research before purchasing anything. This one stuck with me, and I took the plunge. I am VERY happy I did.
Unlike other reviewers, I had NO trouble at all with downloading/updating the maps. When you first purchase this unit, there is already an update. I did not need to use a micro SD card to do this either. I simply downloaded the software from Garmin in all about 30 seconds, and my maps were updated in about another minute and a half. Total time with all the updates and changes I made to my new Garmin was about 10 minutes. This included, shopping in the Garmin garage and downloading several vehicles, voices and dashboards.
Ease of use: I found no issues with the menu, saving to favorites, saving my home location, etc. I don't mean to offend anyone but I would think some of the complaints regarding this is simply user error.

So many great features but.......
I love so many things about the nuvi - lane assist, large, easy to see/read screen, very simple to use. I was thrilled about the lifetime map feature too until I went to install the first update. It took forever to download onto my computer and then, when it was time to instll it on my nuvi, I got the message that I didn't have enough room on the unit and I had to purchase an SD card! I don't particularly mind buying an SD card, but the first time I update the maps?! Garmin was so kind, automatically directing me to THEIR site to buy the SD card. Really?! Buyer beware, FREE lifetime maps aren't actually free.

Awesome Product
I was very pleased with my new Garmin. It was very easy to set up. I also loved the features when it told me about congestion ahead and road closures. It is so easy to use.
