Don't Buy!
This thing will get you lost! It will take you the long way to get somewhere and the wrong way! I even downloaded lifetime maps for this unit last month for $100 extra and it still tells you the wrong way to go. It may work in some places but defineately not in Georgia! The street names are wrong even when you update! Not for use in Hinesville Georgia!

Good unit, but....
I recently ordered this to replace my existing Magellan, which at the time did not come with lifetime maps. (Updating the maps would have cost more than this unit!) It works wonderfully so far, but I took a star off because I felt that something should have been said that the live traffic feature doesn't function in all areas. I live in the Buffalo NY area, and nothing in Western NY is included in this option, which makes it pretty useless to me. Still, as long as you're not buying the unit for that particular feature, this is a great bargain.

stopped working, cord doesn't fit either....
Just sent back for replacement in the first year...cord never fit well and then it stopped working for no reason. couldn't get it to restart despite charging. company didn't seem flustered and this must be an ongoing issue for this model. have had other brands, but from now on will only get a Garmin, all others seem to pale in comparison. not worth the price.

Never had issues with my TomTom
I bought this Magellan GPS on 11/9/11 to replace my boyfriends tomtom that disappeared. Everything worked wonderful until 12/26/11. The screen is frozen and we have tried turning it off and on. Leaving it off for hours and no luck on the frozen screen. Before this Gps we had a tomtom for 3 years and no issues at all.

Just stopped working, used it maybe 20 times
I buy from QVC and HSN all the time and this is the first time I find myself really at a loss. The GPS just died, now what? The review of the century matters not if it only works for a few months. If anyone knows what to do, please let me know as I can not find any details on the web page after 30 days that are helpful. I did like (when it worked) the ding ding when it was time to turn, very nice. So upset it is dead.

Going Back
My friends have a Magellan GPS which I have borrowed on numerous occasions, so I bought this one because I liked the way their's worked. The first time I used it I was going to doctor's appt in Mobile AL at Providence Hospital. The GPS told me to go East and I knew the hospital was West. This is not a new hospital, so at first I thought I had put the address in wrong, but it was correct. I am unsure what Magellan did with the map programing in the newer models, or if that was even the problem, but this one clearly didn't live up to my expectations.... we won't get into the fact that the estimated time of arrival was off by 20 mins. Sorry, sent it back.

Great Stuff
Bought this to replace my TOMTOM and I must say....it's a much better unit than most people give it credit for. I liken it to the NeverLost units in the HERTZ (of which I am a part time employee) rentals. Same "approaching turn" tones and everything. The instructions are right on the mark and the "you have reached your destination" announcements are spot on...even announcing the side of the street the address is on.
So far I have no complaints and I would highly recommend this particular unit for it's value and dependability!!! You cannot go wrong for the price!!!!

Gets the job done.
I appreciated the purchase because it was on easy pay for a trip in which I needed a gps asap because someone stole my Garmin out of my car. (Which by the way, they will never get in it, it had a password!) I do like the feature of where it shows you what lane to be in to exit properly. On the negetive side, if you don't preset the speed limit that you want the system to remind you that the speed is over the set limit, you maybe annoyed with the system saying "warning". I just miss the Garmin.

Lost no more
My wife has not gotten lost since we got this GPS. She loves the fact that she can here traffic and directions. This allows her to keep her eyes on the road.

Won't Get Lost Again !
I recieved my Magellan GPS today and I looked at the instructions and they looked easy enough, so since I have purchased other Electronic items before and since I am a PC Technician, I knew I better Create an account with Magellan before I even try to update or do anything.
Well it was easy: the steps are first Create an account, then Download the Content Manager, then plug in your Magellan and it will prompt you to update the software and update the maps after this is finished, then your maps are activated, updated and your GPS is ready to use.
I programed my Home address then I put a friends address in and when I went to use it , the directions on my new Magellan GPS lead me right to the front door of my friends house,
Thank You again QVC for another Great Working Item, and at a Great Price, also where else can you get such Quality and be able to use your item on just a Partial Payment, Not at your Local Dept. Store.

Great item "IF"
The cord to charge it would stay in, it keep falling out! The connection is NOT snug and using tape or a rubber band is really tacky (I don't know what else to do). Trying to find a universal cord to charge it up. :-(

Not A Good Purchase
This GPS system is full of mistakes. I took it on 2 trips this summer and thankfully I knew where I was going because I don't know where I would have ended up had I followed the GPS instructions. Also, it does not have a "map" to show you the route you will be taking. The one I used to have had a map of the state you were in and showed the entire route. I is very confusing to deal with. I would send it back but my 30 days are up and they won't do anything for me. Buyer beware!
