A Note About the Inspiration

Dinner service was meticulously designed and crafted for each of the saloons and eating establishments on Titanic. This set is based on a beautiful service that may have been used in an elite cabin suite, but was certainly intended for the wealthiest of passengers.

Watch a video of the original service from Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.

VERY Disappointed, 'Presented' AS DINNERWARE. :( Ladies (and Gents) I ordered the Whole-Kit-And-Kabudle to USE as Dinner Service. I ordered Seven Sets of This (1 extra in case something broke), Three sets of Teacups, Two Teapots, Two sets of Creamer and Sugar-- THAT is A LOT of 'duckies' (close to 700-so Far!) being spent on a Dinnerware for something to be used, not Everyday, but 6/8 times a year. This WAS 'presented' as Dinnerware to be 'USED' and NOT just for 'sitting around in a china cabinet for decorative purposes'; BUT!! if a person just buys A 'set' for THAT reason, then of course No One will be actually be 'eating and using' AND seeing ALL the less-than-stellar Workmanship that is lacking practically Each and Every Piece!! As a previous reviewer wrote commenting in regards that are 'people actually thinking they are getting fine bone china for 30?' NO!--but Most Certainly!! to be able to USE in front of Guests! And!! these were NOT presented as 'remembrance mementos' as other reviewer also stated. I am sorry, but the 'pitting' in sooo many pieces was just too Obvious. It was easy to see that Even with delicate hand-washing the gold trim would totally wear off, because it already looks 'worn'. 'Borders' did not line up properly. I just cannot even begin to express the total 'shock!!!' of the size of the Teacups--no humanely way possible for 99% of men to be able to get their fingers in the handle--not possible. The SIZE of the Teacups was beyond silly!! in comparison to the Teapot, just made no 'sense' and I feel did not look 'right', and please just 'forget about' using the Teacups for regular coffee--MAYBE Espresso. In the video above you see the Teacups for a few nano seconds and at the Original lst Live Airing the Dimensions of the Teacups were NOT given in the description. I waited a long long time for this entire set. I own 2 beautiful 'fine bone china' sets--this was more for when a smaller amount of guests would come to dinner--more intimate affair. I like to 'use' what I buy, but yes, of course, if someone desires to buy just One Set for 'display purposes' I can understand that; my purpose was Entirely for All of Dinnerware to be Used though and I enjoy having both matching Dinnerware AND coffee/tea sets--No possible way for the Teacups to be Enjoyed--Especially NOT coffee....sooooo teeny-tiny!! (No, I was not expecting huge coffee mug sizes, but a size that did not looked ridiculous with the Teapot would of 'helped'). I do Love my 'Q', but this just TOTALLY missed-the-mark and I could Not recommend this set to anyone who actually orders it to be used as a FULL Functional Dinnerware/Tea Set with Multiple Settings. The workmanship is just not something that I would be Comfortable with serving guests in my home. The 'thickness', Clunky Dinnerware also did not match-up with the 'delicate' Teacup set. Sets WERE packaged quite well though!) All in All....sorry I ordered and now the TASK of sending this back (see my reviews--VERY POSITIVE and hardly EVER send ANYTHING Back!!) is going to be an All-Day-Affair!! Truly, Truly.... Disappointed. 07-17-12
Lovely for Titanic Collection The dishes are prettier in person than the picture indicates. Mine did not contain the flaws some reviewers have experienced. There are fine china replications of this pattern out there for a much greater cost. These are porcelain and look like hotel ware. And they are beautiful! A surviving piece of this dinnerware, a cup, was on display at one of the Titanic exhibits I attended this summer. Although there are some differences, such as a gold decoration on the inside edge of the cups on the original, this set is a pretty good replication to my eye. The price of this set makes it affordable for most to have a piece of Titanic memorabilia. 07-09-12
Like this dinnerware set I have been fascinated with the Titanic since I was a little child. I visited the Titanic exhibit at a local museum several years ago and loved so many of the items in the exhibit. At the end of the exhibit, items were available for purchase. I remember seeing the set of first class dinnerware that I really wanted but could not afford. I could afford to purchase only one third class cup, nothing else. I was so excited that this set was offered by QVC. This dinnerware set looks very nice with the tea pot. These are adult size dishes, not child size like the cups and cream and sugar set. Oh course I will not use these..purchased more for display than use. So happy to finally have the dinner set that I wanted so much but could not have! 07-08-12
Certainly not first class I was really looking forward to having this beautiful pattern as my personal dinner set, but the quality all around is pretty poor. The porcelain itself is very thick and clunky, not at all that fine quality you would expect with the First Class label. The gold patterning is very unevenly distributed, and the dark blue shade is inconsistent from plate to plate. The extended waiting period I had to endure wasn't really worth it, but I plan on keeping my set only because I've seen no alternative place to buy a better quality set. I would not recommend this unless you don't mind having a pale reflection of the original quality china set that was on the Titanic. 07-01-12
Beautiful! I read the other reviews and I have to laugh. Do people REALLY believe they are getting fine bone china for $39? First, these are remembrance mementos of Titanic, I wouldn't dream of USING them or putting them in the dishwasher. I am a lifelong collector of Titanic and I have ordered every piece available here, and they are resting nicely in a glass case with lights shining on them. Not using them, for heaven's sake. They look stunningly gorgeous in the case, the plates, teapot, cups, saucers, creamer, sugar, just beautiful. Love it all. MORE PLEASE!!! RIP all the brave souls on Titanic. 06-30-12
A nice functioning set and conversation piece This by no means is the finest china I have ever held or owned. However, it does rank among the most attractive. I just used this set last night at a dinner party and they were a hit. These pieces function as well as being pretty. 06-30-12
So Disappointed I usually don't write many bad reviews and just send things back quietly but this time I think I ought to mention that QVC's usually wonderful quality control was missing. The dishes gold paint around the edges looks worn and the dishes themselves have imperfections. I ordered a set of 6 in everything and it is going to be hard to get that all back in the Post and the cost of returning everything but for quality sake the stuff has to be returned. I am so very disappointed as this would have been such a nice thing to have. 06-29-12
a little dissapointed but I soon got over it !!! I received this tea set and I was dissapointed with the quality the dishes are not at all like fine china you would find in England instead this is what I would say is pleasing to the eye but upon handling it you can tell it is cheaply made it is heavy not at all like a fine porcelaine and two of my plates had a different shade of blue and where it should have been white it was grey however I do like the design and I dont think it is all that expensive so I decided to keep it and I have returned one of the sets { I ordered four settings } and have it replaced I am just waiting for the cups and saucers to arrive now and then I shall have the set. 06-28-12
Beautiful!!! I purchased these for my 8 year old granddaughter who has been fascinated by the Titanic story. She is thrilled to have a replica of the dinnerware from the First Class service. The colors are vibrant and the pattern is beautiful. She can hardly wait for the teacups! 06-26-12
Disappointed I have been waiting for this to arrive, but now I am sorry I ordered it. Every piece has some pitting. Which is all I see when I look at it. Sending it back. 06-25-12
Steerage Class at Best I was very dissapointed when I saw this. The patterning is very poorly done. The real Replicas are made in England, by the same company who made the originals. But of course they are five times the price, but I just had to have them. This would be nice for every-day use though, dishwasher or no. 05-03-12
Beautiful! I bought 12 placesettings of this from QVC back in 1996 when the movie came out. It is stunning. This is a very good price. I can't believe it! Back then it was $125 a place setting! Everyone that I've entertained for dinner have thought is was extremely elegant. The only downside is that it has to be handwashed. Like my Waterford stems, I guess I'll have more to handwash after dinner! Its so beautiful, I have it on display in my corner cabinets. Its a great conversation piece. 04-06-12
