About Marie Osmond

As a child and teenager, Marie Osmond endeared herself to an entire generation. That bond with her audience not only continued, but grew stronger through the years as Marie's career blossomed into hit records, network television shows, Broadway musicals, movies of the week, worldwide concert tours, a New York Times best-selling book, television commercials, and lecture tours.

With over 40 years of successes in the entertainment industry, Marie's legions of fans now span generations.

In addition to being an international celebrity, Marie is also a savvy businesswoman. In 1991, she launched the Marie Osmond Fine Porcelain Collector Dolls line on QVC and at Disney theme parks. It has become QVC's top-selling doll line, was nominated for Trendsetter of the Year in the collectibles industry, and has moved into the retail and direct response markets. Marie began sculpting a number of her own dolls in 1993, and has received several Dolls of Excellence and Doll of the Year award nominations. She recently was honored with QVC's highest recognition, the coveted QStar Award, as well as being the first recipient of the collectible industry's highest honor, the Crystal Award.

Recently, Marie has expanded her business activities to include a wide range of products for the home sewing and crafting market. With national exposure on QVC's Crafting with Marie programs, she continues to inspire consumers nationwide.

Besides motherhood, perhaps her proudest achievement has been her role as a co-founder/co-host with John Schneider of Children's Miracle Network, a project of The Osmond Foundation. The largest annual broadcast in fundraising history, it has raised in excess of 3.4 billion dollars since 1983 for children's hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada. 100% of proceeds have stayed in the local area and gone towards medical treatment, research, and assistance.

Marie is the proud mother of eight beautiful children and considers them her greatest achievement.

Storage and Doll Care

Storage and Doll Care

  • When you purchase a doll, be certain to save all packaging, certificates, and inserts. This adds to the value to the doll if you ever want to sell it on the secondary market. Dolls (excluding antiques) without their original package have a lower resale value.
  • For long-term storage of dolls, place a layer of acid-free tissue between the doll and the fabric to help keep colors and dyes from bleeding. Make sure you check your stored dolls on a regular basis to ensure there aren't any issues with insects, dampness, and crushing.
  • Regular cleaning of porcelain and vinyl can be done with a soft cloth and distilled water — do not use soap, bleach, or chlorine products.
  • If you have a cloth doll, you can vacuum it through a layer of netting, but never vacuum silk.
  • Not everyone chooses to put their dolls in glass cases (which limits dust), since decorating with dolls is so much fun. The best way to keep them clean and fresh is to dust them on a regular basis, just as you dust your home. Using a large, soft brush works well on porcelain, vinyl, and even hair.
  • One of the biggest causes of damage to dolls is sunlight and smoke. Be sure to keep your dolls out of direct sunlight or long exposure to fluorescent light. Even if there aren't any smokers in your home, consider the effect of smoke from a fireplace.

C24993 - "Pumkin Spice" 5" Seated Rag-a-Muffin Doll by Marie Osmond 4 5 5 5
Disappointed....... I purchased the "Banana Nut" Rag-a-muffin doll when she first came out. She was so delightful that I looked online for more. I chose "Pumpkin Spice." I took her out of the box and immediately noticed that her eyelashes were applied unevenly. After manipulating the eyelashes a bit, I thought I'd adjusted them to a point that the difference would barely be noticable to anyone but me. I then took her hat out of the plastic to put it on her head, and the "attached" bow came off in my hand. It had been put on there with about a pin-point's worth of fabric glue! Also, she doesn't seem to have nearly as much yarn "hair"' as the Banana Nut doll has. For a Marie Osmond doll, no matter how small, the quality should have been better. I tacked the bow back on her hat and kept her, because I have difficulty getting out and hate to ask people to run errands for me. On the positive side, her dress and face are just gorgeous, particularly those green eyes! I just wish more attention had been paid to the little things. I don't think Marie would have been happy about this doll. 12-11-07
SWEETIE So incredibly cute. I absolutely love the face. And then there's the workmanship in the clothing! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! 11-20-07
She is very colorful Pumpkin Spice has pretty green eyes. Her costume is very cute. This is my first rag-a-muffin doll. I'm going to display her at my office. She can be posed many places out of the muffin cup. 11-06-07
Poor packaging but great doll I was so excited to receive this but when I opened the muffin tin first, it was defective (cracked). The doll was beautiful but I sent it back because of the tin. The muffin tin was literally crammed into the box. Although the doll was protected, the muffin tin wasn't since it's made of a non-flexible material. I was very disappointed because I really wanted to have this doll in my kitchen for the Fall. Please work on the packaging. This is the first time I've had a problem with a Marie Osmond doll and I own many and have given them as gifts to friends' children. 11-02-07
pumpkin's good any time of the year! This was my first Marie Osmond doll. She is just adorable! The detail is exquisit. I originally bought her for just the fall season but I leave her out all year long. After all, pumpkin isn't just for Halloween and Thanksgiving anymore. 10-24-07
