I LOVE this sweater!!! I've had mine in blue for years and it is my winter coat BUT I've lost
About 100 lbs since I bought it and its been wearable but another 20 lbs and I'm out of it!
Please bring this back for "Rose of Tralee" in September! IT wasn't in the ST. Patrick's day show 2013. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!

Beautifully Made, but Poor Fit
This just wasn't for me. I am usually a Large, but ordered a Medium based on the reviews. I realize it is a sweater "coat," but it was still huge...and incredibly unflattering. At 5'8" I looked short and dumpy. I ordered the green, which is a lovely color from a distance, but close up is more of a heathered green, with different shades of green and some brown in it...didn't like that much. Alas, mine is on its way back. Trying to decide if I should try again with the other similar one that is listed as a cardigan instead of a sweater coat. Thinking if it's lighter weight, that maybe it will hang better? I have always wanted an Aran Craft sweater, but this one just wasn't the one. And not sure if I order a different one if I need to go down TWO sizes? :(

My favorite Aran sweater!
I have several Aran Craft sweaters and this is the one I wear the most. I bought the blue years ago and I wear it every year and it still looks brand new! I travel with it, I wear it around town, it's perfect. I have to turn back the cuffs because I am petite and it still looks great, so don't worry if you have shorter arms.

Sizing is off..sad that I have to send back.
I agree with the last post. I would give 5 stars for this beautiful sweater,but I cannot keep it. I wear a Large and usually a large is roomy on me. I was so happy to get my order in for the Blue sweater before it sold out. It's just beautiful,but it's HUGE,,,more like an extra extra large. Sadly, I have to send this back and they are sold out of the blue. If you're ordering this sweater,order a size down for the proper fit.

Odd Sizing and Color not accurate
I purchased two of these actually and to my dismay the L was like an XL and the supposed pale yellow was more of a golden yellow - which is really a shame because I've gotten Aran Craft sweaters before and was quite happy with them. Needless to say these are both going back!

Best Buy
I got this as a gift 3yrs ago. I wear it every day. I live near Seattle and this sweater keeps me nice and warm but not too warm. I'm always getting complements on the look and the zipper. It holds up wonderfully with running around with three kids. Its the best sweater that you can buy. You won't be disappointed with this!
PS. I have two more sweaters from these folks and they are all wonderful. I plan to get one more today too!!

Perfect Sweater
Sheer perfection. Just ordered the green, will make the 4th sweater in this style that I've bought. Warm, soft, perfect length (just past the bum). LOVE that you can zip up from the bottom, makes it extra comfy for driving or riding a bicycle. Always receive compliments with any of the Aran Craft Sweaters I wear. Can not say enough good things about this one. Make sure to order one size smaller than you normally would. I took the advice with the first sweater I bought years ago, and every Aran Craft Sweater I buy, I do so in a size smaller than my other sweaters & coats and these fit perfectly, with a little extra room. You simply can not go wrong with this purchase.

Absolutley LOVE this Sweater!!!
I have had this sweater in the green color for at least 3 years and it still looks just likethe day I bought it ! I get so many complements on it. I would like to make a request though, Would you please come out with some sweaters for the men in our lives? My husband likes the sweaters that the guys wear when they demonstrate the ladies sweaters . especially the ones they wear with the zippers. Thanks

Best Purchase Ever
The sweater coat was my first Aran Craft sweater.Never was big on wool clothing because the itchy feeling they would cause. These sweaters are not itchy what so ever ! They are so soft ! I normally wear XL clothing ! The color I wanted was only available in large because XL had sold out .So I got it in the large . It fits so perfectly ! I have since purchased several more ! Everyone I meet ,friends,family and people I don't know . Tell me they love the sweater I am wearing ! They love the color ,how they look and fit ! I am looking forward to purchasing more this St. Patricks Day and beyond . Would reccomend to any gal young to older ! Great from anyone in there teens to 60 's,70's and up .You can dress them up or dress them down . I am a forever Aran Craft Customer !

Aran Craft Merino Wool Hooded Sweater Coat
I love this sweater and have had it for a very long time. Then I washed this sweater big big mistake. NEVER EVER WASH THESE SWEATERS THEY WILL GET VERY VERY SMALL MINE DID SO BE VERY CAREFUL THEY ARE SOOOO PRETTY SO DON'T DO WHAT I DID BECAUSE I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER ONE. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL SWEATERS.

nothing else like an irish sweater!
I have several of the aran craft wool sweaters and I love them. I wanted to say that I would like to let others know that I do not dry clean my irish sweaters. I wash them on gentle/hand wash cycle with wool or baby soap in cool water. I lay them on a towel to dry and have no problem with shrinking or any thing else. Irish sweaters have been around for centuries, long before there were dry cleaners. I don't like that chemical smell from the dry cleaners, so I tried this on my original sweater years ago & have never hesitated to follow this procedure with all my Irish sweaters.

Wonderful Sweater
Love everything about this sweater. Wool is very soft, cable patterns are lovely (natural color), fits well for a plus-size. I do have a little issue with the zipper but, if I take my time when I get to the end, it's fine. Lots of room to layer blouses, turtlenecks under this. I was so glad I bought this I ordered a sweater coat too!
