Nutrisystem Success 4 Week Plan w/ Weekends Off
easy to follow and I have lost 22 pounds so far. Easy to take with you. I look and feel so much better breakfast lunch and snacks the best ! and shakes keep you full
I was home when the box came and when I unpacked it, all the bars were melted. You are supposed to drink a protein shake every day, but you only get 7, not 28. So I had to call Nutrisystem to order the additional 21 shakes at a cost of $50.96. And when you call Nutrisystem you wait on the phone for a good amount of time. I have had to wait 3 - 12 minutes. I was leery about this program because of the mailing of food. I should not have ordered this. My rating would have been zero stars, but the system requires at least one star.
I was a little leery when I saw the negative reviews but curiosity got the best of me so I placed my order. I regretted it by the 5th day of eating the food.
The commercials are misleading - you don't just open the box and you're set for a month or so. The hidden cost of the program is pretty high. They recommend a protein shake at breakfast everyday but only send you 7. They also want you to have a protein and 4 vegetables a day. This means some grocery shopping after you are already paid $200ish for food. I'm a single person and my entire grocery budget for a month is around $200, going over budget was not something I had anticipated.
As for the food itself, it runs the gamut of being really tasty to being just terrible. All of the food has the same underlying chemical taste. The breakfast bars and the cereal are pretty good. The lunch bars are good but as it is hot where I am, they melted en route so I had some that were beyond hope of salvaging. Most of the lunch meals are little cups you add hot water to. Honestly, if I wanted ramen noodles, I would have saved myself a ton of money and just bough ramen noodles. The dinner meals were tasteless MREs (meals ready to eat) that looked nothing like the picture on the box. The picture makes you think you might actually get some meat in that Chicken and Dumplings but think again. The "dessert" options also suffered from the Oklahoma heat and I ended up tossing them in the trash. The desserts that I could save were cookies that were so hard they could be used as paving stones and popcorn.
Also, the food made me really gassy and bloated. I felt like a bottle of Bean-o should have been included with my order. The gas problem led to a few embarrassing situations at work.
I would not recommend this at all and I will not be re-ordering. The best part of the order was the blender bottle.
Well worth the money
I must admit that after reading some of the reviews, I expected this to be the worst food I ever put in my mouth. I was VERY PLEASANTLY surprised. After trying various different plans that were so restrictive and tasted horrible such as Medifast, this was a breath of fresh air. The foods are surprisingly tasty. And it works. It also educates you as to what portions of what types of foods are appropriate and healthy so you can continue the plan later on without the help of their foods. Three days into it I had already lost 2lbs and after getting over the initial urge to want to eat everything you're not supposed to, and just realizing you're not as hungry as your brain think you are, it is very easy to stick to and satisfying. I would highly recommend the program and the foods.
The food is not good. There were a few things that tasted good but the portions are not realistic at all.
I purchased this because I thought the packaged food would be so much easier and convenient with my schedule but the food is so unpalatable I would much rather spend the time and plan and prepare my own food.
I had really good success on weight watchers and thought I could get through the plateau with something new but this definitely is not it!!
excellent in taste
I received this 3 weeks ago and am really thrilled with it. The food is delicious. I have lost 6 pounds since starting this and I feel really good. The naysayers should stop saying the stuff they say because they do not know a good thing.
the only reson u lose weight is becuse you dont want to eat it! burger is dry split pea soup is just plain NASTY!!i been on it for 3 monthes and only lose10 POUNDS thats like hundreds of dollars down the drain. i guess i should have cancelled the first month but im not a quiter,i am now thou.
Need new chefs.
Breakfast and bars are not bad. Lunches and Dinners need new recipes. Not sure why they taste so bad. Only one I liked was the mac and cheese dinner. Will be sending this back.
No Calorie Counting & Label Analyzing!
Nutrisystem has taught me how to eat better, portion control, and how to properly combine different types of foods to get the best results. Also, of course, I have incorporated exercise which is key - cardio (walking) & toning/weights (pilates & bands). I have been SO RELIEVED to finally try something that you don't have to constantly be reading labels, counting calories, making giant spreadsheets of all the different label contents - THAT IS SO TIME CONSUMING. Also, one thing I've always hated is all the thought that other system's require you to put into food consumption - and that is the exact thing that I am trying to get away from, is ALWAYS thinking about food! Nutrisystem allows you to start with a basic menu & then add some fruits & vegetables to sublement. Take advantage of the Nutrisystem website! They have excellent tools & Vegetables. SO HELPFUL. I didn't master the Nutrisystem way the first week - give yourself some time to get used to the new way of doing things! Don't give up. I've only done this for 1 month, and am ordering a second month's worth now. When I got my Nutrisystem items, I basically tried to eat what they provided, and easily could incorporate the Powerfuels & Smartcarbs, by the third week I finally had got the hang of all the fruits & vegetables. For me the most difficult element was adding the veggies - CLEARLY I do not eat enough. A couple tricks for incorporating the veggies - cook them so you aren't eating so many of them (1c vs 1/2c), and/or utilize vegetable juice like V8 or tomato juice to get all 4 servings in. I am just about to master that by this week. And the Protein Shakes are actually good! I was expected the old chaulky taste, but they are really good! Just take your time & get acquainted with your new way of eating! It's worth it. I'm actually excited about ordering my next NS kit. And one final thought - remember that the scale is not the only way to measure success! MEASURE yourself, because as you exercise, things will change & shift for the better! I might mention a couple of things, I don't like or eat nuts or peanut butter, and as other folks have mentioned, I don't like all the foods, however, a lot of them are very good. Just be open-minded & try it. It's all about change & trying new things! The lunch bars are great - just remember to add a few more coarse veggies that day for lunch to fill ya up! I encourage you to try it NS!
Just plain tastes bad
I lost 35 pounds on my own and thought I'd try Nutrisystem to help lose the last stubborn ten pounds. Big mistake. The food tasted so bad that after a couple of weeks I couldn't bring myself to eat it. Breakfast was the least objectionable...but how can you mess up oatmeal, cereal, and bars? The flavors of the lunch and dinner entrees were just nasty. A total waste of money. Don't try it unless you are a big fan of Spaghetti-os.
Lost 12 lbs in 7 weeks
I have lost 12 lbs in 7 weeks and am soooo happy. I was hoping for more but
will take what I lost. I still have another week so am hoping for 2 more pounds.
I have tried for two years to lose the 10 lbs I gained after surgery....now finally
I did thanks to this diet. I exercise 6 out of 7 nights on my NordicTrack and cycle
7 to 10 miles a night. I have lost 3 inches on my waist and 2 1/2 on my hips.
The food is okay. I have learned to eat peanuts and beans. I am a very picky
eater and if I can eat this food anyone can, BUT, you have to want to do this.
So what if you have to cook the food longer than the directions say, do it!
Some food are better than others. I threw out the Tuna and Chicken Alfredo...
not good. I enjoyed all the bars and they worked out great for me.
The vanilla and chocolate protein drinks were excellent.
Ladies/gents, you have to give this a try and STICK TO IT.
It does work and I am so glad I tried it and so is my self esteem
as I feel like I am back to myself!! Thanks Nutrisystem :0)
I started the program almost two weeks ago, disregarded all bad reviews that I read about it and I am very glad I did. Just want to start by saying that you have to put your mind to it, take time for yourself and stick to it. The food is good, and if there's anything you don't like, you could always add your own ingredients that are allowed on the program. It's convenient even for me even though I don't even have a microwave at work, I just heat up water in a cup and pour over any dried foods. After 11 days I lost 8lbs. The first week is torture because the stomach is not used to eating small portions, but it will get easier. The reason why I gave 4 stars is because I wish the program had at least two packs of shakes instead of one. I haven't purchased any more shakes and just have 2 a week. Overall, for a mom of two, constantly busy working, taking care of a 9-month old baby and 5-year old, the program works and it is good.
