I agree the original is superior
I chose to keep this and not send it back but I'm not happy with it. I took the original that I had to work but I think I will exchange and keep this one at work and bring the original one back home. I agree with the other posters who say this does not polish well and seems to crumple up the hair rather than smooth it. I do like the clip on protector this has which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars.

BIG Disappointment
I was so excited to get my styling iron but as soon as I opened the box I knew the quality was not there. It is poorly made. Accessories are made of cheap plastic. It does not shine your hair. It does give lift and I do have baby fine hair. The barrel should have a tip to hold while curling. I also agree that it does burn your hair even at lower settings.

SO Disappointed!
I gave my original InStyler away when I purchased the Milana based on the claims that it was so improved. I have very curly hair that tends to be frizzy when blown dry and curled with round brush. This has the same effect. It tends to grab my hair and not pull through smoothly. It does NOT polish my hair. This was a complete waste of money. I hate I gave my original away. :-(

Makes styling easy!
Love this styling tool! It has cut my styling time in half. You don't have to hold both a hair dryer and round brush to style your hair any longer. The Milana does it for you quickly and easily. Love how smooth it makes my hair. My hair is below shoulder length and on the finer side. I gave it a four rating as the only style I had hoped I could achieve is the beachy wave look, but no matter how many times I try and follow the DVD, it just doesn't provide a wave. I have to stick with my regular curling iron for that. But love it for a smooth and polished look. Worth the investment!

Super purchase
I have short hair and severe rheumatoid arthritis. I can't work the round brush and dryer to style my hair so it frequently was flat and dull . I ordered the 3/4 inch barrel and I am so pleased. I use it every day and my hair has body and shine. My husband is able to see the difference when I use it. Thank you for the smaller barrel.

I don't understand all of the complaints?!?!?
I have the original InStyler, one of the pink ones qvc sold a while back and now I have this one and I don't really understand all of the bad reviews. I thought this one was actually made better. It seems to be a higher quality of materials that were used to make it, it feels good when you hold it in your hand...very couture. I LOVE the clips that came with it, they have a special piece inside them to keep your hair from 'crimping' and messing up your work. The flower is gorgeous and it performs just as well as the other InStylers that I have. I am a happy customer and b/c it's purple, I LOVE to look at it!

Going back...
I thought this was supposed to be an improved styler, but I don't see a difference..this one couldn't grab the layered hair on my sides of my face, and wouldn't straighten my bangs at all, it teased and crumpled them even after trying different heat settings...I'm going back to the flat iron...

What Happened?
I had the original Instyler and I loved it. It was pretty beat up, though, so I replaced it with the Milana. They said it was better. It is not. The bristles didn't catch my hair and as I pulled it down it it seemed as if my hair was getting pushed back up. I don't know how to explain it other than it was like it was teasing my hair into a tangled mess. What a disappointment.

glad I bought it
This tool works on my natural thick curly hair well. My wrist is fused making it difficult to style my hair. Milana has made my chore of styling my hair a pleasure. Thank you for this wonderful product.

Regret Purchase
Does not hold hair like it claims, & burns hair. Original product is much better, this one was a waste of my money.

More volume than from a flat iron
I have a lot of fine hair that is color treated. I use it on the 380 degree setting. My hair is shoulder length. I've only used this to straighten my hair. I've been using a flat iron for several years. I use a thermal spray for both tools. I've used the InStyler about a dozen times. I find the results to be a cross between a flat iron and round brush. More volume than from a straight iron, but not as much as a round brush. It doesn't make the hair super straight like a flat iron.
The first couple of times I used it I thought for sure I would send it back. After several uses, I'm used to how it works.

Save your money
I have below the shoulder length hair. I watched the DVD and I watched the tv program I had recorded. I followed all the instructions and I am an experienced stylist. Unfortunately this tool does not curl my hair the way it claims. Instead it left kinks and odd damage marks in my hair and tangled it up. It would not keep the hair in its place while in its "curling" stage. I tried less and less amounts of hair. NOthing worked. Worked fine for straightening but I can use a regular hair straightening tool for 1/4 of the cost for that. Sorry but must return.
