Susan Graver Velvet Shrug with 3/4 Ruched Sleeves
Bought it to go with the velvet dress. Looks wonderful and will be worn often.
The black shrug went perfectly with my sleeveless black velvet jumpsuit.
The perfect compliment to a Susan Graver black dress which was the perfect attire for the office Holiday party.
This style if perfect for the holidays. It has the right amount of ruching and such a beautiful velvet feel. Comfortable and would look good on just about anyone.
Creates a Great Set!
I purchased this shrug in navy to pair with the sequin tank I purchased last year. Perfect! I'll add the navy or ivory wide leg pants and have a great outfit.
This one is so easy to wear, but looks hot, on. I felt transformed when I "shrugged" it on though I was only trying it on over a t-shirt. This will dress up plain top and pant or skirt.
Good fit throughout and not tight in the arms. One comment about "too much ruching" did not seem to strike a chord with me. I think Susan nailed this one!
I happen to love shrugs because I'm 56 years old, size large, and shrugs (if they fit properly) allow me to wear something sleveless underneath and hide everything I don't like about my back. This one is an instant favorite. Fit is true. Length is just right.
Thank you Susan!
Chocolate brown & charcoal please.
Too Much Ruching!
Some of us do not like ruching. In fact, I do not buy anything with ruching. Can you please make more straight lines. Thanks.
soft and pretty
I've worn the same "holiday outfit" for several years--including a beautiful Susan Graver stretch velvet long skirt in teal, and decided I needed an update. I bought this shrug in dark teal (slightly different color than the skirt) and the two colors complement nicely. I also have a silver matte tank with it and I really like my new ensemble. This shrug is so soft and pretty and fits just right. I would recommend it highly to any woman looking for a dressy shrug.
Just what I was looking for
I actually bought a little velvet bolero a few years ago and I was disappointed when I got it home to find that only the two front panels were velvet. The rest of the jacket was just made from a sort of nylon. Since then, I haven't even seen anything like that in catalogs or websites. This is not only a great little jacket, but the colors are better than what I found before. I got the dark blue which really reflects light beautifully. And short women like me always appreciate the 3/4 sleeves.
Best In Velvet Line
I've purchased a number of Susan Graver's velvet items this season and without a doubt this is the best one. I ordered it in the maroon to go with the maroon tank with the sparkles, and it made the outfit. Then I went back for the navy shrug because the fit on the first was so perfect and flattering. I am 5'4" / 1X / 42DD and this was slimming and just right to cover my arms-- true to size. I definitely like the fit better than the velvet cardigan tank set-- which is also a great item, but almost makes me feel like it adds too much bulk to my hips. I felt fabulous wearing this shrug and received many compliments.
I would also say that the picture on the mannequin doesn't really do the shrug justice. This is one item that definitely is better in person. The only reason I am not ordering all the other colors is that I have managed to convince myself that there's only so much velvet one person can (or should) wear :).
Try this shrug with the matching color knee length skirt and the metallic crinkle tank (silver tank with navy velvet is the combo I chose) or paired with the scoop neck sparkle tank in the same color as the shrug.
I got mine today in the teal. I purchased it to go with the sleeveless dress. It makes the dress! I never thought I would wear a top so short, but it truly compliments the dress. I ordered mine in a medium as I have wide shoulders. It fit perfectly. The velvet is first class and the color is beautiful. I went back and ordered a second set in the black. Great top Susan!
