Denim & Co. Stretch Chambray Button Front Skirt
Good little skirt
First, to all the ladies who complained that this was a "cheap, light-weight fabric", did you read the name of this skirt? Chambray IS a light-weight, cotton fabric used for summer clothing when denim is too heavy and clunky, not a poor denim imposter, even though some of its colors look like denim. This is a very nice chambray, not the gummy-feeling cotton and spandex D&Co., has been using in so many of their tops. There is just enough elastic in the back waistband to compensate for my over-generous derriere; and enough stretch side-to-side for comfort. I did not have a problem with the button placement; the placket seemed to take care of that. I don't remember if this is described as an A-line, and it is a little narrower than I expected, but it's a nice fit and doesn't bloom out and me look huge. It's a nice little go-to skirt for the summer as long as you want chambray and not denim.
Very Good Everyday Skirt and work casual Fridays
I like the skirt..not really worried about the material...I think the material is right for what it is. Its perfect for everyday around town and even work causual Fridays. Thanks Denim & Co.!
Material is disappointing
I thought this would be a denim skirt when instead it is more of a cotton, denim- COLORED skirt. The material is very thin and it looks more like something my grandmother would wear. I will be sending it back.
Good for the price
Got this as a lunchtime special. It's my favorite style of skirt--button front with pockets. It is lightweight but that's fine for our 110 temps but heavy enough that's it's not see through. Length is just below the knee--OK with me. Don't know about the button gap problem since I tend to wear blouses/shirts over the tops of pants and skirts. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase but wouldn't pay much more than $12 plus shipping for it.
I find that alot of the skirts and dresses are to long for me. I like them mid knee . I also did not like the elastic on the back of this skirt. It seemed to pucker the back of the skirt to much and made waist look larger. I am 5'4" tall. I believe there are alot of us out there this height and your lengths cater more to the models heights 5'8" on up. Unless you carry the maxi dresses in petite lengths they also are much to long.
Poor button placement
The buttons are spaced too far apart. There is a large gap between the buttons and you can see through the gaps to your undergarments.
The material of this skirt is perfect, stretchy and comfortable but I would not reccomend this skirt because of the button placement.
Nice Light Skirt for Summer
I was surprised by the reviews preceding mine. If I had read them before ordering, I might not have ordered. But...I really like the skirts I bought. They're just the right weight for summer and a nice alternative to capris or shorts. I haven't noticed any issues with the buttons spreading.
A big MISS!!!!!!!
I find most D & Co. items to be a huge hit!!!! Unfortunately this skirt was a huge miss (as in MISTAKE)! I really don't think it was denim, but more like a very cheap, light weight fabric, made to look like a denim skirt. Too bad.....I HAD to send it back!
I wanted a light weight skirt but this fabric is very cheap looking, so had to return.
cute skirt but needs improvement
First, this is a very cute skirt, I love denim and co's products, and wish they had more knee lenght skirts, so when I saw this, I had to order it. As I said, it a very cute skirt, but I found some issues...
While the funtional buttons are a nice idea, the problem is you can see through the spaces in between them in certain positions. I ordered the medium, and it was not that snug on me, it fit perfectly, a bit loose, so I walked around the house with it, and someone noticed that when I went to pick something up sideways, of course I had to strech a bit, and that's when you could see thru the spaces in the skirt, which of course had I been outside the house would have been embarassing.
I love the lightness of the skirt so I really don't want to have to wear a slip underneath.
If denim and co can make the buttons non-funtional, so its all just once piece with the buttons on top (love the buttons idea), this would be an excellent skirt.
I unfortuanltey will be returning mine, but if denim and co can please make that one adjustment, because you can see thru the spaces between the buttons sometimes even on a skirt that is not snug at all; just make it all one piece with buttons on top.
I love the skirt but cannot wear it unfortunaltey. I hope though Denim and Co continues to make more skirts, I love many of their other skirts and shirts, pants, etc, an excellent company overall and thanks to QVC for bringing these items to us. :)
Great Summer Weight Skirt!
This skirt is almost perfect! I love the fabric, very lightweight and stretchy. The buttons, pockets, styling are all very well done. My only (very minor) issue so far is the waistband. It's very snug. I got my normal QVC size, but the band cuts into me. Not comfy for sitting, but that is the ONLY issue I have. Highly recommend, especially if you don't carry your weight in the tummy.
