Linea by Louis Dell'Olio Tile Print Tunic with Tie Belt
I LOVE THIS BLOUSE, LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMFY IN THIS HOT WEATHER!
ALSO THE SKIRT IS LOVELY TOO!
Not Good On Me
I don't know if it's the larger print or the cut, but this just doesn't do much for me. I'm 5'4" and ordered the XL as I do with most buttoned items so they fit my broader shoulders. I liked the material (unlike a previous reviewer I did notice the mention of it being sheer in the presentation), have the natural tweed tank to wear under and thought it would go perfectly with all my brown bottoms.
It's well made but without the usual, "Oh I really like this" factor I have with so many other things from Louis. Oh well, I don't usually return too many things by him, so I'll just look for something else :-)
Love Both Colors!
I love the lightweight material of this shirt. I liked it better worn open with a tank underneath instead of tied with the belt and buttoned up. It looks better when the top button is left unbuttoned. It looked best with the espresso silk blend tank and the new natural tank. Paired with the matching skirt, it gives a dress-like appearance. I still have to play with some solid purple tops to see how they look with this espresso pattern.
I sized down one size from my usual Linea sizing and it will be such a great top to wear in the heat of summer. The elastic around the sleeve edge is not taut and looks better when brought up above the elbow and bloussoned rather than worn completely down as shown on the manikin.
I bought both colorways in this beautiful tunic to wear with the matching skirts as "soft suits" as well as separately. The fabric is light, flowy and cool, but it is the vibrant patterns and colors that really shine. Both combinations are luscious, offering many opportunities for mixing and matching solid bottoms. IMO, the fit and length is really more of a long blouse or soft jacket than a traditional "tunic" but this top looks great with slim pants and skirts that are slim or the more flowy boho. The elastic on the sleeves is not tight. I find the garments to be true to size and materfully constructed, as expected with anything Linea. This will be a spring and summer staple.
Great For Mixing & Matching!
This top works as a blouse, but is even better as a soft jacket with a tank underneath for summer or a mock or turtle neck when the weather gets cooler. The button front design is so much more versatile than the peasant blouse, which does not work well on my body type. I am 5'-4" tall and busty. The tunic length is normally not a good look on me, but with the button front elongating the body and not adding extra fullness in the bust area it works. The print and colors are outstanding, and the fabrication being the same as the Linea Boho couldn't be better in summer heat. Please utilize this design along with the Safari shirt/tank design for more tops in this fabrication.
Very nice lightweight shirt
I purchased the shirt in turquoise to wear over the black tank dress and other outfits. I like the print better in person. I vary between medium and large. In this I ordered medium and it fits well. I probably will wear it either open or tie it at the bottom.
Loved it when presented. In person, not so much:-
Loved the retro print and the style of this one when it was presented , but boy was I disappointed when I got it home. As others have said, this one is particularly matronly and really poor construction. Love you Louis, but this one is a dud.
very nice for spring/summer
I love the pattern , and like that it is based on real Moroccan tiles.
Fits well, and looks great with brown slacks, or a narrow mid-calf skirt.
Nice summer weight
The lightweight fabric of this pretty colorful blouse would be welcome in the summer, and the colors of the turq. choice provide options for matching. I returned the blouse because it is cheaply constructed which I do not wish to tolerate on a blouse for which I paid $51. The facing pops out from under the collar. This proved not to be a good style for me; the raglan shoulder and the puffy sleeves gave me a dowdy look. I would love to see this fabric in a blouse with regular shoulders and sleeves a few inches shorter.
Love This Print!
I ordered this top in the expresso. I fell in love with the print when Louuis showed the matching skirt in a sneek peak during a linea presentation. I ordered this to wear mostly seperately from the matching skirt. It is sheer, but because of the print, I think it can be worn without a tank underneath as long as nude foundations are chosen. That being said, i did order the tweed tank because i loved the way it looked with the print. I ordered my usual linea size of M and it is plenty generous. This will be a very cool, breezy top to wear during the hot Phoenix summers.
dowdy and matronly looking
i ordered the expresso multi. it looks prettier on tv than in person. in person it is very dowdy and matronly looking. also, it is sheer, which the write-up and television presentation never mentioned. i think this is an important point to make, because i would never have ordered in the first place, if i knew that. so it is going back.
