M by Marc Bouwer Animal Print Maxi Skirt with Pleat Detail
This skirt is so amazing! I ordered the grey one. The fabric is beautiful and it looks so expensive. I have worn this skirt twice and received so many compliments. I did wear a longer black silk slip underneath. Order a size larger if you are between sizes.
This skirt is so comfortable. I like the bottom hem. I am 5'8" and wear it with heels, flats and boots. Its getting cold now but it will be waiting in my closet for spring.
I ORDERED THIS IN THE XS SMALL AND THE FIT IS BEAUTIFUL. IT FLOWS WITH EVERY MOVE. I AM 5'2 AND THE LENGTH IS PERFECT. THE PLEAT DESIGN AND MATERIAL IS PERFECT. IT FEELS LIKE A FEATHER. THANK YOU SO,SO MUCH MARC. WE LOVE YOU!!!!
This skirt is beautiful! The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because as others have pointed out the underskirt is too short. I tried it on with black high heeled boots. I only am 5'3", but I do have long legs and the under skirt was a couple of inches above my knee. I got the XS in the black. The waist fit me fine. The black is a leopard print with black, white, and blue gray. I hope this review helps. I love Marc Bouwer designs. Even though the underskirt is short: I am keeping the skirt and I plan on styling like "Monica" has, the model in the video.
Ok, I've recently ordered three Marc Bouwer things, two tops and a maxi dress and I took an XXS in one top, and XS in the other two. I loved this skirt, but I must exchange for a M because the top is a wide elastic band and the XS is REALLY tight. To be fair, my waist measurement is the 30" and so I'm reordering in the M. A previous reviewer was correct to say that this must be ordered by waist size. I just hope it's not too long now as the M is one inch longer than the XS. I'm 5'4" and I was ok with the XS. By the way, both colors are beautiful. I can't choose between the two.
just okay; tight in waist
This is the first time I purchased from the Marc Bouwer line. Almost everything was too small for me (I ordered my usual size.). This skirt was tight in the waist, and not as special-looking as something similar available from a competitor.
Didn't work for me
Lovely skirt. Flowed beautifully but it was too long on me! I'm 5'4" and this dragged on the floor. I wanted to love it, but...
Had to return.
I wore the blk combo skirt last Sat. nite to my husbands 70th birthday party at a very fancy restaurant. Rec'd many compliments including one from hubby. Very comfortable, I wore 3 to 4 inch patent wedge, worked perfect! I love it!
Needs a Tweak
This is a gorgeous garment. I needed to go down a size as the waist is the critical measurement on this one -- check the size chart carefully. The print, fabric, and design of the skirt are outstanding; however, the lining is inadequate. On me, it hit just below my tush, too immodest for me and my husband. Also, it is very straight, which means it would ride up even more once you sit. I tried it over black capris, but it still showed more when back lit than my husband and I were comfortable with. I have a black skirt I could have tried, but the skirt would have shown at the bottom -- and then the light weight of the garment would be defeated. Adding something to the bottom of the lining might help, but it would still be too close to the body and would still ride up, unless I replaced it -- just too much work and expense to be worth it. I just couldn't seem to find a solution that would make it work for me.
Much better than I had even hoped for-GREAT skirt
Just received the grey skirt to9day. It looked just as it had on TV - but the proof was in trying it on. I am a large lady and ordered the 2X - and guess what! It does look good on someone my size just as the designer said it would. Soon as I'm through writing this review I'm going back for the brown one too.
Ladies - especially us larger sized gals - go for this one. You won't be sorry!!

This is a Summertime Must-Have!
Light, cool, flowy, feminine, sexy, this skirt looks fantastic. I couldn't resist and purchased both colors, which look terrific with a black or white tank top (and more). The wide band of elastic is very comfortable. I first ordered the XXS but it was too tight in the waistline, but going up to the correct size and fit made a world of difference in how the skirt hung and looked and how wonderfully comfortable it was.
Dressed up with the tiniest strappy high-heeled sandals, or a flat sandal for a more relaxed look, with different jewelry this skirt can comfortably swing either beachy casual or dinner out. That and the fact that it packs so well (I twisted mine slightly and rolled it- no creases!) makes it a perfect summer getaway skirt.
You will also like as I do, that the slip underneath is very nicely done and not at all bulky. The hem of the skirt is overcast, and the tiny ruffle along the waistline also does not contribute any bulk at all.
It may sound a little unorthodox, but I prefer to wear mine with the longer point in the center of both the front and back. It is particularly slimming that way, and your calf peeks out on either side. Cute! It is flattering on and a joy to wear. This skirt is front row center of my closet and I reach for it often because of it's comfort, ease, and sexy prettiness.
If you are very short, you may have to get it hemmed which is quickly and easily done with a serger (either at home or at the seamstress's). If this helps, I am a smidge under 5'4" and the XS length is great with both flats and heels.
I would honestly recommend that you do get the size that comfortably fits your waistline so the skirt will hang to it's best advantage and be the most flattering on.
