George Simonton Regular Border Print Pull-on Maxi Skirt
This skirt is extra long but the print is beautiful . I had to send the small back for an extra small; it runs big.I love it now that I finally have it! I bought the green.
Buy if you are Tall!!!
I love this skirt. I'm 5'10" and the length hits me just like the picture. Anyone shorter this skirt will be dragging. However, I also have pulled it up like a tube dress, put a belt and bolo jacket on and off I go. I bought it in orange and the color is AWESOME! Payday I'm going back for the green and khaki.
Oh My!! Should I Visit Peru or St. Thomas???
My husband and I are headed to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort in Panama on the Panama Canal for spring break. I wanted something long and flowy that could be worn casually or at night out to dinner. This skirt arrived today in teal. I was so excited to try it on and it didn't disappoint. After reading the reviews I was somewhat concerned about the length but for me it is perfect. To help others I can tell you that I am 5'8 1/2 and usually wear a 14. My pants length in perfection is 33; however, I can get away with a 32 in flats. This skirt on me can be worn with fancy flip flops or up to a 2 or 3 inch heel with no problems. The material is yummy and so is the color. For casual wear around the resort I plan to pair it with a longer black halter top I have and some simple jewelry. At night I'll just jazz up the shoes and sparkle up the jewelry. I went back to order the orange but sadly already gone in the large. I probably could have sized down one size but the large is very comfortable and gives me a little room to play with. With this said, the large actually makes me look very thin because of the cut and flow of the garment. George, you are an amazing designer and I couldn't be more pleased with this skirt!!
LOVE this skirt, but I"m 5'9" and the skirt drags on the floor! I can't hem it as it messes with the pattern, and I'm not going to pay a tailor to re-do the elastic waist. So frustrating! QVC I love you, but your quality is just going downhill. I return nearly everything these days.
I was so disappointed when I didn't order on time and thrilled when I was finally able to get one. I purchased the orange which is a beautiful, clear and bright color. I already knew to size down as I have done in the past with the Simonton items that I already own. The skirt was squeezed into a small bag but totally wrinkle free when I pulled it out and put it on. The fit is spot on and so very flattering. Please make sure you are tall if you order this. Not sure why others had a problem as it was the exact length listed in the description. Take out a tape measure and see where it will hit on you. I am 5'9" and it is THE perfect length for a maxi. Bravo George! This one is a winner! LOVE IT!!!
Beautiful skirt, but.......
Loved the skirt but ordered the petite and it was too long as mentioned in other reviews. it is a shame I had to return it. I thought about taking it to the tailor to shorten it from the top but it would have made the cost of the skirt to expensive for a summer only skirt. I could see myself wearing the shirt with a fresh white top and cute sandals. George, I think you could have avoided a lot of returns if you would have paid closer attention to the length. I have purchased many of your items and will continue but will look more close at your size specs.
Not Petite. Hugh!
The fabric is lovely and I love the beige print however everything else is very wrong!
I am just under 5' 4" and bought a med /petite. The waist is quite small but the hip area and length are way too big. It is cut like a ball gown and not a maxi skirt.
If it fits you enjoy it but it is a waste of lovely print fabric and shipping costs!
Too big, too long
I am size 14 and ordered a large. It's too big. Even worse, I am 5'8" and it is still on the floor, giving a new definition to maxi skirt. Since it is an engineered print, it would not even be worth trying to hem. Alterations would mean chopping it at the waist and that never proportions out right. Or rolling it up at the waist, as suggested by another customer, which I have not done since high school and refuse to do now.
I got it in orange and it was lovely. The fabric is nice and soft. Shame it has to go back for such bad proportions.
I purchased this in the orange in size M, my normal GS skirt size and it fits like a dream. I am 5'5" and got the regular length - not petite. I love the color orange! I tried it on and like the length. If I wear flat sandals, I may have to roll up once, but with one inch clog-type sandals, it is perfect. I also pulled it up under my arms without a bra (I would put a strapless one on when I wear it) and put a wide black belt on - and WOW very versatile and resort/vacation looking. I was concerned that this print might not look good, but it is very rich. The fabric just flows. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Beautiful Skirt but Too Long
The fabric and color of this skirt is very nice but I'm 5'8 and this skirt was too long. Had to return.
Just received the khaki color today. I love everything about it! The fabric is soft, smooth and did not have wrinkles on arrival. I am 5'6" tall and need to roll waist over 2 band lengths. Since the fabric is soft and light weight, I have no problem with length. I love George Simingtons fashions. I recommend this skirt to anyone, whether young or old. With the right top and accessories I think this will make a classy, cute casual, or dressy outfit!!
Love this skirt!
The skirt is a wonderful texture, so soft and flowing. I am 5'8" and the length is fine for me, although I do have long legs! I can also wear it as a cover-up. Just pull it up higher to suit the length you need. If it comes back, I am ordering 2 more!
