George Simonton Regular Border Print Pull-on Maxi Skirt
I like the print and the fabric. Normally I like long skirts but the skirt I received is much longer than the description said. I just don't think I want to have it altered.
Good, not Great
I really wanted the green but it was sold out in my size, I ordered the khaki. The shade online is deceiving, it is a richer and warmer shade of camel than expected. The skirt runs large and long, I rolled the waistband twice in order for it to fit with low or no heels but I do have nice black 3 inch wedges that would work.
The print is lovely, but the skirt just isn't as flattering as I expected. I am on the fence about returning but the reduced price was very good.
Awesome for spring, summer, and fall!
I live in Georgia and when the weather starts turning cold it's still pretty mild. So this skirt gets a LOT of wear, even up until Thanksgiving some times with a jacket/sweater/long sleeved shirt. It's great! Very comfortable and I ALWAYS get compliments. I'm 5'5" and I have to pull it up higher than shown on the model #up around my rib cage# to keep from stepping on it and to get the hem at ankle level, but I never tuck in my shirt so it's okay. Wedge heels help a lot and denim jackets and shirts look great with it too. I do recommend wearing at least a half slip under it #mine is the orange color# because you can kinda see through it in the light above where the pattern starts. It's a little pricey for a light weight skirt, but I am glad I bought it. I also recommend some sort of anti static product when the air is dry, especially if wearing a slip with it.
Hangs well... feels good and color combination perfect
Adore this skirt
I have been waiting 2 years for this to come back so I could purchase the green. They sold out by the time I ordered my khaki. This skirt runs very long and I sized down (had lost a few lbs} and ordered the petite. I am 5'4". It still almost touches the ground and I cannot wear heels but it worked. I was so thrilled to see it back only to find there are NO petites. Perhaps they sold out? If not, I must say, George, I am extremely disappointed.
This skirt is extra long but the print is beautiful . I had to send the small back for an extra small; it runs big.I love it now that I finally have it! I bought the green.
Buy if you are Tall!!!
I love this skirt. I'm 5'10" and the length hits me just like the picture. Anyone shorter this skirt will be dragging. However, I also have pulled it up like a tube dress, put a belt and bolo jacket on and off I go. I bought it in orange and the color is AWESOME! Payday I'm going back for the green and khaki.
Oh My!! Should I Visit Peru or St. Thomas???
My husband and I are headed to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort in Panama on the Panama Canal for spring break. I wanted something long and flowy that could be worn casually or at night out to dinner. This skirt arrived today in teal. I was so excited to try it on and it didn't disappoint. After reading the reviews I was somewhat concerned about the length but for me it is perfect. To help others I can tell you that I am 5'8 1/2 and usually wear a 14. My pants length in perfection is 33; however, I can get away with a 32 in flats. This skirt on me can be worn with fancy flip flops or up to a 2 or 3 inch heel with no problems. The material is yummy and so is the color. For casual wear around the resort I plan to pair it with a longer black halter top I have and some simple jewelry. At night I'll just jazz up the shoes and sparkle up the jewelry. I went back to order the orange but sadly already gone in the large. I probably could have sized down one size but the large is very comfortable and gives me a little room to play with. With this said, the large actually makes me look very thin because of the cut and flow of the garment. George, you are an amazing designer and I couldn't be more pleased with this skirt!!
LOVE this skirt, but I"m 5'9" and the skirt drags on the floor! I can't hem it as it messes with the pattern, and I'm not going to pay a tailor to re-do the elastic waist. So frustrating! QVC I love you, but your quality is just going downhill. I return nearly everything these days.
I was so disappointed when I didn't order on time and thrilled when I was finally able to get one. I purchased the orange which is a beautiful, clear and bright color. I already knew to size down as I have done in the past with the Simonton items that I already own. The skirt was squeezed into a small bag but totally wrinkle free when I pulled it out and put it on. The fit is spot on and so very flattering. Please make sure you are tall if you order this. Not sure why others had a problem as it was the exact length listed in the description. Take out a tape measure and see where it will hit on you. I am 5'9" and it is THE perfect length for a maxi. Bravo George! This one is a winner! LOVE IT!!!
Beautiful skirt, but.......
Loved the skirt but ordered the petite and it was too long as mentioned in other reviews. it is a shame I had to return it. I thought about taking it to the tailor to shorten it from the top but it would have made the cost of the skirt to expensive for a summer only skirt. I could see myself wearing the shirt with a fresh white top and cute sandals. George, I think you could have avoided a lot of returns if you would have paid closer attention to the length. I have purchased many of your items and will continue but will look more close at your size specs.
Not Petite. Hugh!
The fabric is lovely and I love the beige print however everything else is very wrong!
I am just under 5' 4" and bought a med /petite. The waist is quite small but the hip area and length are way too big. It is cut like a ball gown and not a maxi skirt.
If it fits you enjoy it but it is a waste of lovely print fabric and shipping costs!
