A222271 - Linea by Louis Dell'Olio Scoop Neck Shell
Sand & Black
Purchased both colors in my usual Linea Small size. It follows the lines of the body for a nice fit. I plan to wear it under the black kimono for evening wear. Package wrinkles easily steamed out. Perfect for travel.
Wonderful Mix N Match Piece
I have all the colors of this shell to mix and match with the coordinating kimonos and pants. I sized up to a M to accommodate my bust measurement. I love the cooling feel of the beautiful fabric, which is practically weightless. Easy care and packs wonderfully.
It just didn't fit right :(
My normal Linea size is a Large and this tank was tight-sent both back. Just didn't work for me and I have many Linea pieces in my closet.
The Sand Is Beautiful
I purchased the black and the sand. The sand is a beautiful shade, almost like champagne. I also purchased the kimono and pants in black. The entire outfit is fabulous. Thanks, Louis for keeping me in style!
Armholes Cut Too Large
These are one of the very few things of Louis' I've ever had to return. I ordered the coral and black in my normal size medium. They fit fine except for the too large armholes, so large you could see the bra. I found this particularly unusual since I'm a DDD, and I thought the chest should have taken up any slack. But maybe it's the other way around. Just beware the cut of the armholes in this top.
Unlike all the other reviewers who like the longer length, I don't. I tried the sand on with a beautiful white Linea jacket and it just didn't look good hanging too much below the jacket though I know that is the style. I don't wear my shells tucked in. I like shells or real tunics. Also, I found the armholes especially in the front too big making the neckline off. No matter, I STILL THINK LOUIS IS ONE OF THE FEW BEST REAL DESIGNERS YOU HAVE.
Great Layering Piece
This tank looks exquisite with both the kimono and safari jackets fashioned in the same material, and the matching wide leg pants. For me, it will be a layering piece as the arm openings are a little too large for my body type to wear alone. My arms don't fill out the openings for the size required by the bust, but that is my particular sizing problem and not a fault of the garment. I ordered the Black and Sand in my normal Linea size.
I liked the sand color, but for the price, I expected better workmanship. Other designers, like Bob Mackie and Joan Rivers, tape the exposed seams as befits a higher end garment. The inside of the garment was an overstitched mess of thread.
Love this tank
Ordered black and sand in my normal size small and I'm so glad I did. The fit is just about perfect. The neckline in front wants to gap a tiny bit, and armholes are only a little large. I may take them to my tailor for adjustment. He will know exactly what to do. This should only be a minor alteration. I am small busted....34B, waist 30, hips 39 and weigh 130 lbs. And I have narrow shoulders. Otherwise, the remaider of tank fits perfectly and I love the length. Looks so pretty belted or not. Wise purchase.
Love the longer length and the lightweight fabric. This shells provides excellent coverage in the strap area and you cannot see undergarments. You can also reverse this shell to get two different necklines. Great under jackets also great for travel. Love it.
Not as expected
While I like the fit of the coral and black tanks, the sand in the same size is larger and there is too much material under the arm - causing it to flare out strangely.
Also disappointed in the material - agree with the poster who said it's like parachute material.
I love black tanks for versatility in my wardrobe but this one is my new favorite. Its longer and can be belted and will be great with skirts this summer or worn under jackets and cardigans. My normal x small fit perfect. I really like this fabric, it came out of the package almost wrinkle free. Very nice quality. I am a careful shopper and I am so pleased to have found this line of clothing.
