Liz Claiborne New York Petite Feastive Paisley Print Maxi Dress
Not for Plus Size Girls
I really did like the design of the dress, at least on the models, but again, this is another LCNY that I need to send back. Arm holes to big/cut way to deep. Really! how do you do that? My arms are huge to begin with wearing a 3X. Who were you designing this for? Next, the empire waist needs to be dropped a little lower for the larger sizes- the "girls" who are DDD don't fit in that small of an area. The band for the empire waist comes across the middle of my chest and not under it like it was designed to. And lastly, I just think the design and fabric was not good together for the larger sizes. This just emphasized the "tire" that you may have if you are wearing a larger size- I would definitely have to wear shape wear under this if I didn't want to look like I was smuggling a kids pool under this dress. And if you wear shape wear it would show under those deep cut arm holes. This needed to have a little pleating under the bust for the larger gals so that it would not cling to the tummy/lower tummy area. I am 5'5'' and the only reason I purchased this in petite was because I hate the length of the regular maxi's. They are so long and drag on the ground unless you are wearing 3 or 4 inch heels. When you are size 3x big heels are not comfortable so I tend to wear 2 inch or less and lots of summer sandals not the wedges/tall heels you would need to wear in order to make the regular size work. I guess overall I would have to say not designed for me and probably not designed for a lot of the plus size women out there.
pretty for summer
This is the first maxi dress I've ever purchased, so I don't have a lot to compare with. However, after reading the comments I went ahead and ordered a petite even though I'm close to 5'6". I think the length works perfectly for me with sandals - it hits right at my ankle bone - so I definitely believe the other comments from people smaller than myself when they say that this is too long. A regular length would certainly be dragging on the ground for me! The black-multi is NOT transparent, but the material is a bit clingy, though the pattern helps to camouflage my tummy a little bit. I also think that the arm holes could be a little tighter, as they do gap a little bit, although I do not find them to be too low-cut. I particularly appreciate that the v-neck isn't too low and the shoulders are wide enough to be work appropriate without a sweater .
I am 5'4' and the petite was was dragging on the floor. Also, the green color looked washed out and the material was so so thin that you would need to wear a slip or a spanx under it because it was almost see-through. Who wants to wear more layers in the Summer? Definitely not me. Dress was so not worth the money. Liz Claiborne quality is not what it use to be. Returned!
I bought this in the pink. I am a medium and 5'4" tall. If you are shorter than my height, the dress would be too long unless you wore some high heels. I wear a 2" wedge heel with the dress and the length is perfect on me. I love the material and don't feel it is too clingy... and I have ample hips and butt! Wore it to work and got tons of compliments. I feel pretty when I wear it and that says something at my age. I am bummed that there are no more mediums available as I would order the aqua. I would highly recommend this dress. Love it!
Not True Petite
Was thrilled to see QVC offering a TSV dress in petite-finally! But, I'm 5'2" and I'd have to shorten this about 6 inches just to be a maxi.. A true petite dress is not only shorter in length but also should be proportioned to fit a short waisted person. This dress is not. Also, large in the arm hole area and too deeply cut in neckline. I got the Petite small but this does run large.I do like the light, fabric and would be a comfortable dress if it fit correctly. Dress also smelled of smoke. Going back. QVC, please offer more petites in tops, skirts, dresses, pants, but please get the cut and proportions right.
Too big too long
Very disappointed in the fit. The arm holes gapped and stuck out like wings. The length was also too long. Back they go, (I also ordered the water colored print A224067). Won't try any Liz things again. Used to like this brand, but it seems to have changed for the worst.
This dress fits to a T. I had second thoughts about this dress because of the negative reviews, but all depends on the individual. I'm 5'3" and wears a L, this is a perfect fit without any gaping arm holes, clinging or length issues. Now I can kick myself for not ordering two on the "Easy Does It" day.
for perfect figures only
Definitely not for real petites...too long if you're 5'1" and terribly unflattering on my curve-less figure. Thought the pattern looked cheap when it arrived in person. Disappointed.
Was on wait list for the black/multi. After reading several negative reviews, I was wary and decided to cancel my order. When I went to my order status, it had already shipped. Received it today and tried it on right away. (size PM) I am a 10-12. It looked gorgeous! So flattering! I showed my husband and his jaw dropped...he loved it. I am 5'2" tall and it is just the right length with heels. Not sure if I could wear with flat sandals without tripping over it. It is so comfortable. It is a bit clingy , maybe more "form fitting". Very sexy, but I still plan on wearing a light shaper underneath although I really wouldn't have to. So glad I didn't cancel my order!!
Way too Clingy
I bought two of them - one for me and one for my sister. We have pretty decent figuresm but the fabric is cheap and clingy. It is goin back.
Petite is TOO LONG!!
I love maxi dresses and was so excited to get this in petite, but it is much much too long. The fabric is clingy and shows everything. The waist on the petite is not empire and gives absolutely no shape, if you are tall and straight without curves it will be fine. The print is gorgeous, however and the colors are fantastic.
Deffinately NOT Petite for 5'3 women
I ordered 2 dresses the Black and Blue in Petite size, everything I order in petite are way to long and having everything I order as to be shorten which adds an additional cost. This is the last Maxi Dress I will be ordering because they are not for us Petite women.
