WEN by Chaz Dean Signature Boar Bristle Medium Round Brush Duo
I am in LOVE with these brushes!
My hair is long with natural curl/frizz and I have been using a curling iron or Chi flat iron to straighten the length of it for several years now. Also the Instyler. To my horror a few months ago I began noticing broken hair every day on the counter top after straightening my hair! Even though I religiously use the Wen styling creme (love that stuff) it's just too much heat on my hair. I really didn't believe all the hype about these brushes because I've tried boar bristle brushes in the past and my hair had so much static that I looked like I'd stuck my finger in an electrical outlet lol. But, I was desperate. I got the large duo first and COULD NOT BELIEVE the difference in my hair the very first time I used them. I used all the same products as usual so I know it was the brushes. My hair has NEVER been glossy/shiny without using a flat iron, etc... on it. I have been using these for about 6 weeks now and I am soooo happy with how my hair looks! It's so shiney and bouncy now! The only thing I use a flat iron on now is my bangs and I do so sparingly because I'm trying to repair the damage. I'm really trying to use my Wen cleansing conditioner most days (honestly I can't afford to use it every day# and when I don't use the Wen, I use a hydrating shampoo #gasp, sorry Chaz#. Ojon is pretty good on my hair and I don't have to use so much so it lasts. Chaz I wish you could come up with a more economical cleansing conditioner for people who want to take care of their hair but can't afford expensive products, please pretty please??? Anyway, I have thinning hair due to thyroid issues #it's just thin on top# and I really try to baby it all I can. I have to say, my hair has never looked so bouncy and healthy and I'll be 47 this year! Having to struggle with my hair and having bad hair days really affects my self esteem. I use the Joan Rivers Great Hair Day powder to fill in the places where my scalp shows so badly. Thank goodness for that product as well! I actually am having alot of "good" hair days now lol. :# After I tried the large brushes #I really only need one but bought the duo so I never have to be without it and have one for a back up# I couldn't get the medium duo ordered fast enough! I use the large one the most but do use the medium for my bangs, and if I ever layer my hair I would use the medium size more. Chaz I would love to have an even larger brush than the ones offered now. As I'm drying my hair, I have to stretch my arms ALL the way out even with the large brush. Every time I use my brushes I get a little bit better at it. It only takes me 15 minutes to do all my hair with the large brush, which is only a few minutes longer than the old way I dried my hair #with a paddle brush# but when I did it that way, I had to also straighten it afterwards, so timewise it's the same and looks SOOOO much better/healthier. I have never colored or bleached my hair #it's a medium brownish redish with a little blondish and tiny bit of grayish lol# and I was amazed at how much these brushes, used in combination with good hair products, bring out the natural color and highlights in my hair! Honestly, if you're considering these brushes, just try them. Some have complained about the bristles falling out but I have had very few fall out of mine and that was only the first time or two. For how these brushes make my hair look, I would replace them every year if I had to! I have a very small round brush that I got in the 6th grade #1978# and I have used it #along with my family when I was growing up, there were 4 of us that used it daily# ever since. It's still in like new condition. Now I know that it's a boar bristle brush and can see the same quality in Chaz's brushes. Ladies your hair is worth the little investment of the right tools. Now that I've found the right styling tools I am just hoping my hair will thicken up since I'm trying to be dedicated about using the cleansing conditioner or really good hydrating shampoo. I will be so happy if it does. If you have thick hair, take care of it and be thankful because medications and illness can change it in the blink of an eye. Thank you Chaz for all your great products and putting your whole heart into giving us beautiful hair! :)
POOR QUALITY !
I ORDERED THESE MEDIUM BRUSHES . I WAS VERY SURPRISED THAT THEY WERE SO CHEAPLY MADE .. I HAVE THE LARGE SIZE BRUSH & THE QUALITY SEAMS TO BE SO MUCH BETTER .. THE MEDIUM BRUSH IS SO LIGHT WEIGHT & FLIMSY .. VERY SURPRISED FOR A WEN PRODUCT ,SO BACK THEY WENT!!
handle too small
Although the brush is OK I am giving it a 2 due to the fact that the handle is too small the way it curves and it is difficult to use.
I am returning it.
Best Round Brushes
I have been using these brushes for over a year and a half now & they are still my favorite and still look like new. I love how my hair glides through the brush and never gets caught. I have an A-Line haircut and so I blow my hair out almost every day. These two sizes are perfect for my hairstyle and give me just the right amount of volume. It took me awhile to get used to the shape of the handle & at first would make my thumb sore, but now it doesn't bother me as I'm used to it. I would love to see this round brush made into an even bigger size and then I would have my dream set.
I am not sure if I am keeping these. They are on the pricey side and would much prefer to have a medium and a large in a duo set rather than two of each. I received this as a gift from my daughter.
best of the best
This brush just glides. It gave my Hair shine and no frizz.
I received the medium. I tried to used it and for my short thin hair, it wasn't worth the money I spent. Just didn't see the hype. Sorry Chaz
Too expensive. Sent back.
Best brushes I have ever used. I highly recommend. I have should length thick hair and the medium brushes are perfect. I also have one of Chaz's large brushes that I use for the back of my hair. PERFECT.
Love you Chaz, you're the best!

These brushes are great. Have had my large round brush for several years. Bristles falling out. I decided to try these to replace the old and so glad I did. They make such a difference with the longer stiff bristles that stick out farther than the core bristles. You won't be disappointed. Give them a try!
Good but could be better (Chaz)
I really like the diameter and bristles of these brushes. I only had super wide brushed for my longish thick wavy hair, and am having great results with these medium size brushes. BUT, I agree with others that the handles are too short and your hand does get tired trying to hold the grip for a full blow out. I do like the pointed end to help with parting the sections to dry.

Please note this brush includes EXTREMELY HARD what seem like PLASTIC BRISTLES mixed in with the Boar Bristles so I immediately returned because they hurt my head! Also the short handle cramped my hand after only 5-10mins of use.
I really wanted to love: wooden core, boar bristles--the natural materials I'm looking for but Chaz you missed the mark on this one. I hope you'll go back to the drawing board on this one because there is definitely a need here; if you don't fill it someone will just thought I give you dibs (despite the other negative reviews I wanted to try for myself but in this case, I should have listened).
Besides the description should definitely include the fact there are other than Boar Bristles in this brush...BUYER BEWARE!
Pros And Cons
Love the bristles. HATE the handles--cause extreme hand fatigue (and I know to hold them just below the bristles.) They need to have thicker, longer handles to prevent this. I have used this type round brush with the same type bristles for many, many years with no problems but wanted a smaller diameter brush than I have to add more curl. Ineffective for the reason I purchased as they are uncomfortable to use. Very disappointed. Should have returned but waited too long. Would not recommend.
