WEN by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint and Pomegranate Duo
Love love love!
My friend told me about Wen a year ago. It makes my hair more manageable and healthy. I always get compliments on how my hair smells too.
Gave Wen Another Try
I have tried Wen cleansing conditioners many times and never liked the results. My hair seemed gummy, limp and heavy. However, I never tried the sweet almond mint and pomegranate duo. I have used the sweet almond mint 4 times since I received it a little over a week ago. I saw an improvement in the texture, softness and elasticity of my hair on the first use. I have very thin, fine hair which is just at my shoulders. Since starting to use Wen I have not put any styling products in my hair except for a very light protein oil which adds some shine. I do use an aerosol hair spray to set my style and was afraid that the Wen would not remove the residue it leaves, but was pleasantly surprised that it does. I use 10 pumps the first time and then cleanse again using 7 or 8 pumps. I do not use Wen as a leave in conditioner because as stated before my hair is very fine. So I have come to the conclusion that you have to find the right formula for your hair type and luckily, since this is not an inexpensive hair care product, QVC allows for trial and error by letting you return the product. I gave it 4 stars because I'm still not completely sold on a "shampoo" that doesn't lather. Hopefully five stars will be coming soon!
After seeing commercial after Commercial I decided to try Wen. I followed the directions. My hair looks and feels oily. Also the scents smell like medicine/cough syrup to me. It's going back. So disappointed. Wish it worked.
Way to expensive
I bought this product because they kept saying on QVC how great it was, I found it left my hair more oily looking and if I had to use the number of pumps the instructions call for I would be purchasing a new bottle every 2 weeks. Way to expensive. Going to give the rest away and let other family try but I will not purchase again.
Something just not right
I have purchased and used this product throughout the year (2014). Because of the cost I am not able to purchase all the other products he sells to have a complete collection that is to magically transform my hair into luscious, long, voluminous brunette curls.
One thing I don't like about this product is all those pumps. I purchased this product; two conditioners and was hoping that it would last for two months. Yes, I tried to use less pumps to make the product last, but according to the instructions you MUST use all the pumps stated. I also realized that when you use this product (according to his show on TV) you only need to wash your hair maybe three times a week. Well, less washing of my hair and more pumps and not having any of his other products left my hair no better than a top quality shampoo/conditioner product from a salon. Yes, it is 100% better than a drugstore product.
If you have to use so many pumps of any of his products why do you sell such small bottles. Oh, package in small bottles, require more pumps, consumers have to buy more bottles.
I can't say this product is horrible, just hard on the pocket book. I have ventured out trying other hair products that QVC / H S N have to offer.
I just moved to a house well water although I have a filter on my shower my hair was so dry and it felt like I was losing more and more. Used the sweet almond mint and wow! Got my curl, body and bounce back in my hair. So wonderful I just bought the 5 bottle gift assortment. Love it!
All I Can Say Is Amazing!
My family loves Wen! It's amazing for my hair but the transformation of my children's hair (I have 11) has been shocking. My 2 year old has curly hair and it was a real train wreck before Wen. She cried every time I washed and combed it. Not now! I put the Wen in her hair when she gets in the tub, let her play while it conditions, and rinse it out when she is ready to get out of the tub. I can actually comb right through her hair after her bath without tears. The best part is the next day when she gets up it is still that easy to comb through. This is a no more tears product for her! Also Wen took away my 6 month olds cradle cap after just 4 cleansing and took care of my teenage sons dandruff. A product for all ages. Fabulous product. Yes, it can get costly, but so worth it.
Will never use another shampoo!
I was very hesitant to try this product as I've always been the shampoo then conditioner person so I wasn't sure about using the same product for both purposes, well I was wrong. I honestly don't know what took me so long to try this, one use and my hair looked completely different, it had a lot of volume and beautiful shine, just looked very healthy. My only negative comment is that if you wash your hair everyday it may get greasy with this product. I usually wash every other day and have had no issues, even when I did wash it twice in a row, but I can see where daily use over an extended period of time may result in some greasiness. Of the two scents I prefer the pomegranate, which I know most people do not agree with, but I love the scent and so does my husband. I also like the almond mint but not quite as much. I don't use anything near what they recommend pump wise, I have should length hair and use 3 full pumps to cleanse it and 2 pumps to condition, which makes it last much longer. The high price is worth every penny!
No more shampoo for me
I have super short hair so I feel bad for buying such expensive hair products, however, I can go 2 or 3 days without having to clean my hair. I bought 6 of these in January and I haven't even used them in a entire year ! I do 2 pumps, scrub it around my hair then shower then rinse. Works beautifully. I bought these 2 to restock then a few days later Chaz was on with a special and I bought 6 of the seasonal so I may have WEN to put in my will !!
I really love the scent of the Sweet Almond Mint and the way that it lightly scents my hair. I have used the pomegranate in the past and really like the berry and citrus scents (always purchase extra of the summer ones since I like them the best especially summer mango) but the mint is out of this world good!! I really like what these products have done for my hair - I have very fine hair - but with Wen's products, my hair looks rich and full!! Please consider keeping the citrus scents all year long.
I love the products, but just now looking closer at the ingredients, I find Tetrasodium EDTA and DMDN Hydrentorin which are known carcinogens. I'm a bit worried. can anyone explain? Is there a reason to worry?
Wen did my my hair silky soft but left up build. I now have flakes.
