tarte 100 Percent Pure Cold Pressed Maracuja Oil
Not the same as Argan
I liked this oil but not as much as Josie Maran's Argan oil. It didn't absorb as quickly and didn't seem to moisturizefor as long. Loved the purple bottle and the dispenser though. Would be a second choice for me. Josie included the color stick too.
Money well spent
I have been using Maracuja Oil since it came on the market. I use it under my makeup and at night when I remove my makeup, I treat it like my Amex - don't leave home without it. My friend is going through chemo, the skin on her hands cracked to a point where it was about to bleed. I gave her one of my spare bottles of maracuja oil and honestly in less than one week there was no sign of dryness, her hands were more hydrated than mine. Now I started using a few drops of it on my hands - what a difference. Thank you Tarte for that miracle oil and please let people know they can use it under their foundation and especially for dry skin any place on their bodies.
All you need for beautiful young-looking skin
Yes- I've tried the other liquid gold oil and the Milk products. Both are good, but just moisturize. This transforms your skin.... After just 3 days, fine lines disappeared and skin got firmer. After 2 weeks, I couldn't find the micro pigmentation on my cheeks. The grid-like look of some areas of my face has been replaced with young, firm, supple skin. I don't know how this works, but it is short of amazing. I had tried so many other moisturizers and spent so much money with no results! Just 3 drops on my face AM and PM. Works fantastic under makeup. During the day I use Mally's PPPrimer over it and that's it! I use it all over my eyes also with no issues, and I wear contacts. I only use the IT CC cream over Mally's PPP and my skin is flawless. You need very little.....What are you waiting for!
Why nothing for daytime?
I've used this product for quite some time -- recently adding the eye cream. WHY is there nothing for daytime use?
Has magical powers
I can't believe this stuff. I actually keep it on my desk and just randomly put it on almost every day. The patch of pimples that i have been fighting for months is gone, along with the usual purplish scar. I don't get it, but I sure do appreciate it!
A JEWEL OF A FIND
FOUND A SAMPLE BOTTLE OF THIS OIL IN MY BEAUTY DRAWER . HAVE BEEN USING ARGON OIL BUT UPON USING THIS AGAIN I FIND MARACUJA OIL TO BE MUCH RICHER AND MORE EFFECTIVE ! IM SWITCHING !
Simple and Effective
I was looking for a way to simplify my skin routine and also save a few bucks. I have been using Philosophy, but tired of all the different products to do different things (like all skin care lines) and the expense. I decided to try this (and Josie Maran's argon oil) and I am impressed. Both oils are good but after a week of use, the majacuja oil may be coming out on top, particularly for my face. It does have a very faint, nutty odor, but that disappears after the product is absorbed, which is very quickly. I like that with both the maracuja oil and the argon oil the moisturizing properties last until I wash my face. I also use them on my neck and chest and there is a noticeable difference in appearance (for the better). I use both oils alone and mixed with other products (like tinted moisturizers). I also use them on my lips, on my eyes, and a touch on my hair when it looks dry. This stuff is also great to sooth skin that has received too much sun. I think it is economical because only a few drops are needed.
My skin type: very sensitive and extremely dry
tarte's Maracuja Oil is crazy moisturizing. More than 3 drops is seriously overkill. I usually layer this on top of Philosophy's Hope in a Jar for Dry Skin moisturizer. Because I do, it looks a tad greasy, but I wake up the next day with extremely hydrated, soft, and supple skin. If I use it on it's own, it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a greasy shine at all. I'm a little disappointed that this product can only be used at night (as stressed by tarte) because I'd love to use this as a spot treatment on my dry areas during the day. However, tarte's oil does keep my face moisturized enough so that I don't need an oil during the day time.
In addition to tarte's Maracuja Oil, I have Josie Maran's Argan Oil Original, Argan Oil Light, and Milk and Fresh's Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil. Here are what these oils do for me:
- Maracuja oil: moisturized (no more flakes, yay!), brightened my skin tone, easily absorbed by skin, gave my skin a healthy glow, skin is a tad clearer. Would recommend to anyone in need of a lightweight but extremely moisturizing product and anyone who wants a healthy glow
- Argan oil original: absorbs easily, heavy/thick, moisturizes. Would recommend to anyone who wants extreme moisturizing at night
- Argan oil light: takes a bit longer to absorb, light but still greasy, moisturizes
- Milk: absorbs easily, leaves a greasy finish, moisturizes. Would recommend to anyone who wants extreme moisturizing at night and wants "spot moisturizing" during day
- Seaberry oil: moisturizes, easily absorbs, brightens and gives health glow. Would recommend to anyone who wants extreme moisturizing night or day and to anyone who wants a healthy glow.
I bought this quite a while ago and didn't use it much till after last winter. I have incredibly sensitive skin so I didn't give it too much thought, till I had no choice. My skin looked old, wrinkly and dry. Well, I pulled it out and started using it. I am almost 68 years old and lately I've gotten comments about the skin around my eyes mostly. Now I do not have any wrinkles cause the oil just soaked right in. I had terrible age lines around my lips. Those are just about gone, too. I'm proud of having beautiful skin at my age without the help of plastics and chemicals. My skin looks better that women 20 and 30 years younger than I.
I plan on using this for a very long time. It soaks right in and isn't heavy looking or feeling. Thanks, Tarte!
Once again, unfortunately disappointed by another Tarte purchase. Did absolutely nothing for my skin except leave it extremely dry the next morning when I woke up and caused me to breakout. I also wanted to comment on the packaging. Honestly-- I'm not one for elaborate packaging, sure the bottle is pretty, but all I really care about is if the money I'm spending on a product is worth it in the results I achieve. I didn't think this product was good and I also think it could be cheaper if they didn't spend so much on making the packaging so grand.
Irritated my Skin, Going back to Argan
My skin is sensitive. I used this without problems for almost 3 weeks, then my skin could no longer tolerate it. Going back to Argan Oil, have used that for years without any problems. Argan Oil is a 10 star product, this is a zero. But, nice packing.
Skin so Soft
I love this Tarte Oil, sinks right into your skin and it is so soft. I;ve tried Argon and feel that this is much lighter on my skin
