Susan Graver Faux Leather 3-Button Jacket with Removable Lining
Shoulder Pads too thick and Collar too big!
I really wanted this coat to work because it was a christmas present from hubby and when taking it out of the box, looks beautiful -- nice details, great faux leather, cute style, beautiful workmanship (this is why I gave 3 stars). I even paid shipping and handling to send back the Large for an XLarge. Unfortunately, this coat was less than flattering on my 5"1" petite size 16 frame in either size, and I'm assuming the same for other petite-sized women. The large was just a tad too tight, and shoulders were too padded and didn't really fall correctly. I figured the XL might be a bit oversized, but would probably still look cute, so sent back the L for the XL. Well, it fit around the back and arms better, was way too long in the body -- and still, shoulder pads were way too thick and oddly placed. The chest area in the XL fit too roomy and with chest darts, it looked baggy on me. Also, the collar is way to large -- my husband said it reminded him of large collared shirts in the 70s. I really wish Susan would size more of her fashions in petites -- her stuff is so cute and made so well. Even with some fashion brands, I can still get away with wearing a non-petite size, but not having any luck with SG stuff lately. Instead of this coat, I went with A2397 Suede Barn Jacket-- fit is right on, even though it is not considered petite.
Nice coat for a faux leather. It's too bad it runs a tad small compared to another coat I have of SG. I decided to keep it with hopes that going to Curves will help me get rid of my menopausal belly (that I never had before). I can button it but it is stretched to the max. No smell issues, no wrinkle issues. Not sure how it would be in 20 degree weather though.
Not so much....
I wanted to love this and a first glance I did. What great style and detail for such a small price. Sadly, that's where the love ended. The size is way off....runs small, I wear a 1x and ordered up to a 2x because of the other reviews...and it's too tight. The sleeve length is short, their was no room, unless I removed the liner. The liner hangs out of the ends of both sleeves. The edges of the button holes are frayed. I would pay a higher price for a nicer fabric and better constructed garmet. Beautiful style and detail lost on this jacket.
Soft, Buttery Feel
Love the fit. Would have preferred even a light quilt lining in the sleeves. Not going to be good for colder weather without that. Great in-between fall/winter season jacket. Turned inside out and put in dryer to remove wrinkles from packing and now it Looks Great. Would not have worn prior.. Packaging might be improved to prevent hard pressed in wrinkles in transit.
A wrinkled mess
Obviously Susan Graver does not read one review because all the comments have been similar. The jacket is nice, but arrives so wrinkled because of the packaging.
I am going to wash the jacket, inside out, on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low. I will let everyone know if this method removes the wrinkles, otherwise the jacket will be returned. In addition, I have to resew the buttons before they fall off!
The quality of Susan Graver's clothing has really gone down hill. If this is a sign of future items, she just lost me as a good customer.
This may have been just the coat I received but the shoulders seemed really large...almost like I had big shoulder pads in. It just didn't look good on me....sorry to say but I have to send it back. Other than the shoulders, I thought the jacket looked very real....
Well, I have a wrinkled coat to wear now. How do I get the wrinkles out? I also think the size is a bit small in comparison to other clothing articles I have bought from Susan Graver. I do not care to wash it right out of the box, but will I have to???
Fit is right on with my normal SG sizing. Great looking and oh so soft. The liner is just right for colder days. A great 'go to' jacket.
Soft, soft, soft...
....and no squeaking. The medium (black) fit really well and I like the fact that this jacket has buttons. I have 2 faux leather jackets that zip so I wanted one a little longer and that buttoned. The little liner is OK but if it gets cold I'll probably substitute my thin fleece vest. The length is perfect and it wasn't really wrinkled when I received it. I have short arms so will have to have it altered. This was a very good buy for me.
I purchased this jacket for my daughter, in the brown, it looks absolutely fabulous on her!!! Looks and feels like lamb leather, sizing was perfect!!! Great job on this jacket, Susan!!!!
I wanted to love this jacket. I love the style and quality of this jacket. Unfortunately the sleeves were too tight as well too long. There is no way I could have worn a sweater under this jacket even without the lining. Please fix these problems and I will purchase one in every color!
Nice, but a WRINKLED MESS when it arrives
I think this jacket is a lovely design. The style, seaming, cut .. is nice. I do think the lining was a bit thinner than I saw on tv, was thinking it was a tad thicker; this is more for show than really to act as a lining made up of flannel or cotton/poly.. but it is nice still. What got me really upset was that it came FOLDED UP IN A BAG --like a bathrobe would be--- sooo wrinkled in sleeves, back, everywhere ---that I couldn't have worn it out of the "bag" if my life depended on it !! I did not want to wash it -- have no plans on washing it -- unless I need to. which is remote. So, it is still hanging there trying to "UNFOLD" ...I put an extremely low iron to the lining to try and undo some of wrinkles which marginally helped -- (it is ok, on the label, but U can't apply heat to the "leather") which leaves me with much of the coat still crinkled. Really Miss Susan, I think for a jacket, coat --- don't you think it should be in a box ? folded in half? I just got a Centergrade Jacket that came that way--on a coat hanger ! Talk about class .. Nice jacket, but really shabby shipping .. sorry... I paid 19.97 to get this Express --needed for the wkend. I would have had to wash it to do that .. on a jacket never worn yet.. is ridiculous.
