Ryka Outdoor Suede & Mesh Lace-up Shoes
I received these this morning and put them on immediately. They wear like a pair of slippers, absolutely no break in period, they are light as a feather. I will purchase another pair in the future. Thanks Ryka.
My Favorite Sneaks Ever!
This is my second purchase of the Ryka Suede and Mesh sneakers. The first time, I happened to be at a QVC Outlet in Lancaster and found a pair in brown, 9W. I loved how they felt but they were a tiny bit wide. So I've been wearing them with heavier socks and they are just the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn (from the outset). Not terrific if you want a highly supportive shoe, but they are supportive enough for me, especially when you lace all of the holes to the top. I liked them so much and wore them so much that I decided to go online and see if QVC still had them in stock. When I saw the "purple" pair, I fell in love! But they only had them in a 9M. I purchased them anyhow and they fit fine, only with a lighter sock. The color is gorgeous. Not at all purple, but a light dusty rose/gray/mauve. The color is very attractive on the foot. I hope Ryka decides to keep this model with new colors in the future as I will be sorry next time I'm ready for new sneaks!
I've never found Ryka shoes to have much cushioning...but when I put these on, I was really surprised at how comfortable they are. I ordered my usual size, and have plenty of toe room. My foot is narrow, so I am able to slip my custom orthotics in without having to even remove the Ryka liner...which I usually have to do with other brands. These shoes are really good looking too...sporty, yet nice enough to wear almost anywhere. The laces are good too...not too long that I will trip over them...and they are stretchy and easy to tie. Great shoe..wish they would offer more colors..especially a green combo and a denim-friendly blue. They would be cute in bright red, too.
I like Ryka and I like these shoes. Just one point I need to make to others purchasing. The mesh is an open mesh. No backing. And for me these do not work on the trail. The fine dirt gets in the shoe. I will need to purchase another light weight "Outdoor" shoe for the spring. Meanwhile I had purchased, last year, a light weight hiking boot from Ryka that works great for the fall season hiking. These shoes are great for my neighborhood dog walks and running around town!
What's Happened to Ryka Shoes????
Ordered this shoe in a similar style two years ago and still wearing them, love them. When I saw these, I jumped on the phone and ordered them. Bad decision. This shoe did not hold it's shape, gave no side support, stretched so much it looks like it's been worn for months. I'm returning them immediately. This is the second pair of Ryka's I've returned in the past two weeks. What has happened to Ryka Shoes???? Come on Ryka help us, please! I had double knee replacements and have to wear a good supportative walking shoe. Ryka has been the only walking shoe I've worn since 2004 but unless they change back to what they used to be I will be looking for a new shoe. I'm very disappointed and let down.
This shoe fits me perfectly. It has good arch support. It is a light weight shoe and has an airy feel. My foot doesn't rub up and down in the back. I am totally satisfied with this purchase. I walk 3 miles a day in these shoes. I would definitely buy another pair.
half size too small and b width not wide
Usually a 9W works great but not this time. Needed at least a 9 1/2. The footbed was not cushioned. The shoe was also very narrow.
PERFECT RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!
I had to write this review after reading all of the others. I have really bad feet (result of an auto accident) and really high arches. I must have 10 pairs of (practically new - barely worn) tennis/walking shoes in my closet, including another pair of Ryka shoes. I just started walking again in the past year after having double knee replacements and a stroke, so that, combined with my existing foot problems, make it very important that I wear good shoes. I have spent a fortune on walking shoes, trying to get the perfect fit. This is the first pair of shoes that I have ever put on right out of the box and wore them all evening until I went to bed. They don't have a lot of visible arch support, but the foot bed is shaped so that your foot is supported. They are light weight, which is a plus, and totally cute! I have dreamed of having a pair of shoes that I "want" to put on, instead of need that shoe for a certain activity. I'd love to wear these shoes to work, but they aren't work appropriate for me. But I love these shoes. You should at least try them, if you are interested. I got the purple and they are beautiful - a soft rosy/taupe color - just like the photo on QVC! I know I will buy another color. I also bought my exact size and they fit perfectly. I have a wide foot, but didn't order wide. The toe box is always my biggest problem with shoes because I have pinched nerves and tend to lose feeling in my toes. Shoes have to be roomy enough - and these are just perfect for me. I would highly recommend that anyone give them a try if they are on a search for a cute, comfortable, every day shoe. Now that I found these, I can finally let go of the ones that don't work. Not sure why I was keeping them - but hope makes you do strange things.
Love Ryka just not this pair. left feels weird on the foot also not alot of support. I walk alot and these will not work. These will have to go back unfortunately. On a bright note love the color.
Not the right shoe for me.
Sorry, but I had to send them back. They were to short on my feet and the toe box was to wide. They didn't feel like they had the support I need. I'm on my feet all day and moving around alot.

I really like Ryka. They fit so well and look good, too.
I was excited to get these shoes, as Ryka usually has a winner especially in wide sizes. I wore them for a day and the right shoe seemed to be cut smaller than the left. It rubbed my toes and hurt. I am a Special Ed Teacher and need comfortable shoes that support my activity for a 10-12 hour day. I tried a second day, but still uncomfortable. The color and style are sporty, but they had to go back.
