QVCHD NOW AVAILABLE TO MORE THAN 16.5 MILLION HOUSEHOLDS
MULTIMEDIA RETAILER EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION

West Chester, Pa. (September 2, 2009) – QVC announced today that QVCHD, its high-definition (HD) simulcast of its domestic broadcast, is now available to more than 16.5 million U.S. households. Most recently, the multimedia retailer expanded its HD distribution reach with the addition of Comcast’s 700,000 subscribers in the Atlanta metropolitan area, as well as with Buckeye CableSystem properties in Ohio and Michigan.

“Request for carriage of QVCHD has been extremely impressive and surpassed our expectations,” said QVC’s senior vice president of affiliate sales and marketing Al Ulozas. “We are thrilled to expand our HD distribution so that we can continue to provide our customers with the best picture quality possible.”

QVCHD is currently available nationwide in a number of systems, including many serviced by Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, Verizon, AT&T, Knology, Armstrong, Blue Ridge, Service Electric, MetroCast and Massillon – among others.

With QVCHD, QVC’s products – and the stories behind them – come alive with crisper, more colorful and detailed programming. QVCHD is televised live, 24 hours a day, 364 days a year, featuring the best in beauty, home, fashion, jewelry, wellness and electronics.

“We’re committed to giving our customers nothing but the best, so our picture quality is no exception,” said QVC’s vice president of broadcast technology Todd Sprinkle. “Our HD viewing experience provides our customers with an opportunity to further engage in our broadcast in ways they haven’t before, ultimately aiding them in making informed purchasing decisions.”

QVC became the first multimedia retailer to offer a fully native HD service in May 2009. Prior to May 2009, QVCHD was made available through an upconverted HD service.
