David Venable joined QVC as a program host in 1993. In this position, David presents product information, conducts demonstrations, and interacts with on–air guests, celebrities, and viewers. His knowledge of the industry has made him a sought–after host for jewelry programming. He is also a primary host for holiday, cooking, and collectible programming. David also helped establish and build the gourmet food business at QVC.
As part of his hosting duties, David has toured Italian gold factories and has visited Ireland, Germany, England, and Brazil on product research trips. He has also traveled throughout the United States on buying trips and QVC On Location live broadcasts.
Prior to joining QVC, David was an anchor/reporter for WOAY–TV in Oak Hill, WV and CBS–affiliate WTAJ–TV in Altoona, PA, where he hosted their weekly public affairs talk show Action Newsmakers. He also hosted the Children's Miracle Network telethon for four years.
David is involved with the Miss America Scholarship Pageant system in Pennsylvania. A singer himself, he has performed and emceed at numerous pageants, including the 1995 Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageant. David is also active with local charities and groups in the Philadelphia area.
David received his B.A. in Radio, Television, and Motion Pictures from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.
