iHome Bedside Stereo for Amazon Echo Dot withAlexa Voice is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not that great Worked well for a couple of months and then started Having problems with the sleep function not working then started multiple problems with the alarm not working correctly and still doeskit work correctly. Time zone is not working right either for my living area even though if you ask Alexa the time it will be correct for what she says. Not very pleased for the many issues based on the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was great now not so much This was working great using as an alarm clock and sleep sounds. Now we can’t turn off sleep sounds all of a sudden they just keep playing and we have to unplug every morning. I loved not having to have a dot and an alarm clock...now not so much. Not sure what’s up. Had it less than. 4 months!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Need improvements The app needs to be updated to accommodate daylight savings. Also after shutting off the alarm, the clock needs to hold the volume setting prior to shutting it off. There should also be a way to adjust the time/alarm from the base unit itself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Compatible with nothing I’m overall pleased with this product, the sound quality is great, Alexa comands work well and the outside temp is a nice feature. There are quite a few glitches that drive me insane. 1. The volume control. Every day I turn the volume down to 8 and then at some point throughout the day it goes back up to 20 which is way too loud. Like every other device in my house if I set the volume it stays at that setting it doesn’t magically change. Why does this this have to be difficult? 2. The App. It really doesn’t do anything. For example if you go into alarms you can’t even set an alarm. You can go into the Alexa app and do it but you can’t go into the iHome AVS app to do it, how does that make sense? I already know most of you will say you can verbally set one up, this isn’t advised when your partner is sleeping 2 feet away. Another thing that would be nice is the choice to put the day of the week in the display. The date is great but if you abbreviate the day and the month it would all fit just fine. I would love to see the app do more. 3. Compatibility. The smart buttons are ONLY compatible with iHome plugs. I am a smart home junkie and I have Hue and Belkin products all over my house, it would be nice if those buttons we able to control other products. Yes I know I can verbally turn them on, but as stated before a verbal conversation in a room where others are sleeping is not advised, especially when I don’t know if the device magically turned the volume up to yelling or not. It’s a great product that I would recommend to others the Alexa integration is great. The device function itself could use some refinement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this to replace a old ihome with a click wheel time alarm. I always had my iPod Touch 3rd gen connected to it via the 12 pin connector. (Shows you how long it’s been till I replace items.) but since I updated my ihome device I love it. I like how it shows the outside temp and it’s its tall enough for the display. I used to raise my head to see the time. I also link my iPhone and play my iTunes with the light. But I really wanted to use it through my iPod Touch. But I figured the iPod is to old to download the ihome app. So I’ll just use my iPhone with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great concept but many flaws I've been looking for a dimmable bedside clock alexa/ speaker combo and this one looked like it would fit the bill perfectly. And maybe it will with future firmware updates but right now I'm disappointed. One of my top criteria is for the display to be dimmable - this has a variety of levels sure to please anyone. But you have to mash a bar on top to set the dim level to work for daytime and nighttime. The device has a "Sleep" button which should take care of this but when you press it all the other commands take place but it just ignores the dim setting. Another attractive feature was the smartbuttons on top - if I want the lights to turn off or on I don't always want to have to tell Alexa to do it. But these buttons will only control iHome accessories - they will not trigger an Alexa action which is so shortsighted, may as well call them stupidbuttons. Another unbelievably frustrating limitation is how the device deals with streaming music. You can't launch Spotify by telling Alexa to play Spotify. You have to start Spotify on your phone and output it to the AVS. It gets worse, if you turn the volume down using the buttons on the AVS (like to fall asleep to), it's actually turned the volume way down on your phone so the next day you'll be wondering why you don't hear your phone ring. Very silly. Hopefully they can address some of these quirks via a firmware update.
