Mary Beth Roe joined QVC
as a program host in 1990. In this position, she presents product
information, conducts demonstrations, and interacts with viewers,
vendors, celebrities, and on-air guests.
Prior to joining QVC, Roe was a host for the Cable Value Network
(CVN) in Minneapolis, MN from 1987 to 1990. When QVC purchased
CVN, she was offered the opportunity to transfer to QVC. Before
working for CVN, she lived in Toronto where she acted in a CBS
miniseries and made over 30 television commercials. From 1981 to
1983, Roe was the first female news anchor for WQOW-TV, the ABC
affiliate in Eau Claire, WI.
In 1977, Roe was named Miss T.E.E.N. Minnesota, and after her
year in the spotlight, she served as pageant emcee from 1978 to
1994. She was crowned Mrs. Minnesota in 1989, and competed in Las
Vegas for the title of Mrs. America in 1990.
Roe is active in several charitable organizations, including the
Children’s Miracle Network and Reading is Fundamental. She
is also very active in her church.
Roe received a B.A. in Speech Communication from Bethel College,
St. Paul, MN.
