bareMinerals bareSkin Serum Foundation Auto-Delivery
Ok, but not worth the hype
My skin issues are (just to get an idea if this applies to you): sensitive, combo skin, freckles, medium toned, in between neutral and yellow undertones, and starting to mild rosacea. Best thing about this product is the color selection. I finally feel I have the right color for me. It is sheer to medium, buildable, but not full coverage. I loathe the brush. I can't get the well clean even though I soaked the brush overnight. I find that I get better application by using a flat top brush. Work in sections because the product dries quickly. The product feels strange, but not in a good or bad way-just different. Lasting power is pretty good except for the tip of my nose.
A little disappointed
I found a little goes a long way. It actaully accentuated my flaws instead of hiding them.
It goes into every pore and is very noticable. Also it magnifies any peach fuzz hair you may have on your face. I bought the powder instead and am very happy with that. I love the brush and use it with other cosmetics
Very Nice Foundation
I like the product very much. It covers all my flaws and leaves a dewy and brightening look to my face. Plus, it's SPF 20. My only complaint is the delivery. I either get too much in my brush or nothing at all. Wish bareMinerals could come up with a new bottle that allows the product to flow consistently into the brush. I would have given it a higher rating but the bottle needs to be improved.
I have used and loved BM for many years but was getting tired of the BM regular powder foundation when they came out with this product. I loved it from the second I put it on. I am not a makeup expert, but this foundation is so easy to use, the coverage is great, looks so natural yet covers all my "flaws" and feels so much more hydrating than the powder. The first day i wore it my boss remarked that i look very well rested! I have been using it for about 4 months and I highly recommend it, especially to the 50+ ladies such as myself!
I tried this--- didn't like it all. Sorry it is going back.
With this foundation a little goes a long way. I can obtain flawless coverage with 4-6 drops and I have found that applying 1-2 drops at a time is the best method. I think the people who dislike this foundation are applying it like traditional foundation and if I did it that way I would dislike it also. It is not messy when you do 1-2 drops at a time! If you apply more than 6 drops you will look like a disco ball.
I have worn Bare Minerals powder foundation for many years, which I love. I decided to try the new liquid, but I've been very disappointed. After I apply this, it begins to flake off. Wasted over $40.
Works great for me
I've had this for a little while now and I'm finally ready to write a review. This is a good foundation for me. I wasn't sure at first because it is different from other foundations. There's a little learning curve because it does require blending and experimenting to get the level of coverage you need. Three to four drops is best for me. I have the bare linen and it's a good color match for my skin. A light pat of finishing powder sets it fine for me. I've tried the Bare Minerals powder foundation and never felt the color was good-seemed to make me look yellowish; this is a better match for me. I gave four stars because it is a bit pricey. To me this foundation has no scent at all unlike some of the other reviews. Definitely worth a try.
Won't go a day without this
Love that this has SPF built into it and also it's a perfect perfect match for my skin tone. The application brush goes on so nicely and it makes the foundation spread so beautifully.
works great for me- less is best!!
It's funny how everyone has such a different response to this foundation. I used BM for years several years back, but stopped due to not enough coverage. I tried this on a whim and after a couple of weeks to get the hang of it, I love it. I am still on my first bottle but have been using for almost 3 months. It is extremely light, but it provides good coverage and evens out my skin. It does not smell great, but I don't think it is stinky either. It does seem to make my skin look a bit oily- easily addressed with a quick powder once or twice during the day. It does not break my skin out. And it really lasts all days. A couple of hints that may help: 1. you have to use a primer. I like smash box- it makes a huge difference in both how your makeup goes on and how it lasts. 2. You really only need 1-2 drops- if you are using more you will be oily- you really don't need more. 3. You have to use a finishing powder- again I like smash box HD. 4. it should not come out quickly or easily. You should have to squeeze the bottle for each drop. If it is free flowing you are not shaking it before opening as instructed. It's free flowing because it is seperating. 5. the last area you want to do is your jaw line and upper lip esp if you are having a color match issue.
Too Shiny and Settles in Lines/Wrinkles
I was so looking forward to loving this foundation. I have tried it multiple times and am disappointed each time. It leaves a sheen on the face AND exacerbates my lines and winkles. Not sure if it is because of the sheen but who wants lines/winkles to appear more prominent then then are. Bought two bottles which I am sorry that I did not return upon initial application.
lots to be improved
I have used Bare Minerals products since they first hit the market. I purchased this on the pre-sale and anxiously awaited the arrival. The concept seems great with the new application brush, but I found it to be streaky. Thinking I had purchased the incorrect color I went a shade darker and retried. Nope it wasn't the shade. I tried 3 shades in all. It just doesn't work for me at all. The packaging is very poor and you will find it is hard to get a consistent amount out of the hard plastic bottle without using every swear word you know. The brush is great and I now use this brush with MAC. I will continue to use many of Bare Minerals exceptional products, but this was a huge disappointment.
