WEN by Chaz Dean Signature Boar Bristle Medium Round Brush Duo
I love these brushes. I have 2 large and 2 medium and ordering 2 more medium so I can get rid of my tourmaline brushes which costs just as much as these except the tourmaline burns your hair and you don't get the smooth finish as you do with these brushes. At first I had trouble with the handle but after a few uses they are no problem at all. I highly recommend these brushes and just give yourself some time to get used to the handle. Love them!
Love these brushes!!!!!!
These brushes are amazing. I know people have complained that the bristles hurt there head and yes it does but when you are aware of this you pay more attention when getting to close. I have never used a brush like this ever and I am so glad I bought them. Try them you will love them.... To think of all the money I wasted on CHEAP!! Brushes. Thank you Chaz you truly are amazing... Now how about some regular brushes that are good for our hair.
Best brush I have ever, EVER owned.
I love wen and use it when I have time, but the best and fastest thing I've found is to use regular shampoo, towel dry, and use wen styling cream and this brush. The brush takes a bit of getting used to, but by day three I felt comfortable. Don't hold it by the handle. Hold it close to the bristles, and for volume, start with the the crown of your head and move forward towards your face. Then go to the back of your head and around the sides. My hair has always been flat and sort of tired looking. Now it looks vibrant and full. Super happy.
Love this brush!!!
Best brush I have ever used. Will buy it in the small and large sizes also.
Close, But No
I'm returning these brushes because the handles are too thin. I'm afraid I"ll get carpel tunnel syndrome if I continue to use them. I've been using round brushes with the combination of natural boar bristles and nylon bristles for years, so I think Chaz is on the mark in that respect. The handle design is off, though.
Tried with no success!
First off let me say that I Love, Love, Love Wen products and Chaz Dean. However with that said I have tried using these for a couple of weeks now and I am unable to get the hang of it not to mention the bristles are very hard, but what I didn't like most was when I used them the bristles were coming out!! I'm sorry but for the price of these brushes ($47.00 way too expensive, in my opinion) I should not see the bristles falling out each time I used them. These will be going back.
The bristles on these brushes are so hard and sharp at the ends that they feel like hundreds of needles scraping your scalp! The handles are too thin to get a good grip...I understand the logic behind why Chaz chose to have them made this way.....however, my carpal tunnel does not work well with them. I also feel they are way overpriced. I found natural boar bristle brushes at my beauty supply store at nearly half the price and they are much gentler on my scalp!!! Like all of the Wen products, these are way overpriced as well as overrated! The brushes are definitely going back!
Give them a chance!
I reluctantly purchased these because of some of the previous reviews. I am happy that I did. There is a learning curve, so give them a chance! After about a week (I only cleanse about 3x a week), I improved on using these.
I found them to smooth the hair better than my all boar hair brush I have been using. They also curl the hair on their own.
The handles are textured for a great grip and I absolutely love the point ends....brilliant! I find them to be comfortable to use and grip.
I personally only use one at a time, so I have the second one put away in case I lose one or it wears out at some point.
Also, add the Wen Glossing Duo to your routine, fabulous!
I only have one suggestion. Chaz, you need to do a video tutorial on how to blow dry long hair in the back on your own. I can do the sides like a pro, but I have a heck of a time trying to blow out the back of my hair all alone.
I just got this brush set and have used them for the second time with great success each time. I am new to blow drying like this as I usually allow my hair to air dry unless I am going to a special event. My hair came out terrific using the techniques and product Chaz demonstrated. I LOVE THE BRUSHES and for those reviewers who think these are overpriced, you must not shop for good boar bristle brushes, because in my experience a single really good brush will run upwards of $100 dollars. As for cramping of the hands, I am 59 yrs old and sometimes experience this phenom regardless of what I am using on my hair. Neck and shoulder fatigue happens and the only thing I can think of to suggest is if possible brace your elbows on your counter if possible or you may look into a blow dry salon. I like that I do not have to use a rattail comb to part my hair, then pick up the brush etc. I have fragile hair and these are the first brushes I have used that did not feel like they were ripping my hair out!
I have used WEN for almost two years. My hair was very healthy, but not as bouncy as the WEN models. I decided these brushes must be the key. They are the secret to curling and smoothing hair without any frizz. I was a little awkward at using them at first, but I can tell that I am getting better at the technique each time I use them.
Not As Expected
First for the price of these brushes they are terrible. Also love the Wen hair products. The brush handle is too narrow to hold for any period of time caused my hands to cramp! The bristles are hard and did not move through my fine hair smoothly at all. I was concerned the brushes were pulling out my hair. Stick to hair cleansing and styling products Chaz.
I have looked at these brushes for years but never ordered them because I thought how different could it be. Well I was amazed the very first time I use it. My hair has curl, body and it just wonderful. Thank you so much Chaz for such wonderful products.
