WEN by Chaz Dean Pets Cleansing Conditioner, 64 oz.
smells really bad
I purchased this to split with a friend. It took forever to get half of it in another bottle. No pump. The odor on my hands was so bad that I had to wash my hands over and over and still could smell it. It has a horrible odor. Now, I don't think I'm going to use it because of the odor.
I have 3 Lassa dogs with full coats (to the ground long) and I give this to my groomer. They have prize winning coats..so beautiful and they don't mat up any more, that means less brushing makes them happy!
Long coat, short coat?
I used this product on 1 of my 2 collies. It was very nice on the coat, but without lathering was incredibly impossible to find where you had the product and where it left off. My larger collie suffered the regular dog shampoo after the fiasco of the first collie in WEN shampoo. I suspect this is lovely on a different type of coat. As it was, I believe I may get 4 collie washes for this price. Not recommended at this time, for thick coated dogs. I should have used common sense. :(
Used once - what a difference!
Bathed my 7 lb Yorkie with this last week. It left her hair (not fur) soft and silky. It wasn't fly-away like when using baby shampoo. Also, it does not leave a perfumey scent like so many other doggie shampoos. I'm taking one star away because it's not "no more tears" so I still have to use baby shampoo on her face. I have other Yorkies that don't need bathing as often but I will use this. it is very economical; used only an ounce of the solution for her. Nice to have a freshly bathed dog with silky hair and no perfume. This is great stuff!
Our Puppy is so soft and shiny!
I adore Wen for myself! So when we got our Pitbull/Boxer pup, I knew I wanted to treat him to the same products I use. I don't like using a lot of harsh chemicals on myself and I wanted to do the same for our puppy. Since we started using Wen Pets on him a few months ago, he's stopped scratching himself, his fur is so shiny, and he's the softest puppy around!
I took a star off because it is hard to get the concentrated cleanser out of the big bottle into the little mixing bottle. I have to pour the concentrated cleanser into a measuring cup, mix in the water, and pour that mixture through a funnel into the smaller bottle. It's the only way for me to transfer the product. I see they have a pump in the picture but mine did not come with a pump.
FABULOUS!!!! GET IT--DON'T HESITATE! !
I've used this a couple times on my lab/bull dog mix and was impressed with how soft it left her coat, the yummy smell of maple, and she quit gnawing at her skin. Still, I wasn't planning to write a review. Now I am compelled!! Last night I took her out to use the bathroom and she took off up the hill chasing a deer (live in the country). Unfortunately, a skunk was between her and the deer. I didn't know what was happening when she came all the way down the hill on her back. Then I smelled it. I bathed her with Wen pets only once(no rinse/repeat), and the skunk residual was gone! DID YOU HEAR ME? GONE! ! We used to have to do repeated washes in tomatoe juice just to fade the smell a little. I thought wen pets was pricey--not any more! ! It's totally worth it! ! Thanks Chaz.
I have been using Wen for years and also have been using it on my dog. I love it. But the Pet Cleanser is very difficult to use. It is so thick that you can't get it out of the jug into the bottle. I see now that there is a pump in the picture. I did not receive one. I tried to use one from one of my old Wen bottles but it didn't work. I don't have the packaging or the receipt to send it back. I never thought I would want to send a Wen product back. I won't be ordering this again.
This product is awesome. I have a Border Collie and her hair is so soft from this product. I had told a co-worker about it, gave him some and his wife wants this product. They thought it was the best pet shampoo ever. Can't go wrong with this one.
saved my pup from steroids!!!!!
Was sceptical at first, but have an older shih tzu w/awful skin allergies. Vet tried all different shampoos, treatments, etc., to no avail, pup was still scratching and chewing until he bled. 2 mos after starting product no chewing, scratching gone, hair growing back! Wish I had taken before and after pics, it's been that amazing. Didn't have the problems with transferring to mixing bottle, I do use a little less than recommended, mix w/warm water. Rinsing does take some time, luckily he enjoys it. Maybe 7-10 minutes? Who cares, it works, fur is soft shiny smells great.....and he is happy boy again without drugs!!!!! Well worth the extra time + effort. Thank you Chad and qvc for a great product.
Do not like the smell
I prefer my pets to smell fresh clean after I bathe them not like maple syrup. I also found that after rinsing and rinsing, the product was hard to get out of my yorkipoo. I love a lot of wen products but this one didn't do anything for me. Going to donate to the local humane society.
A Life Saver
My little fur kid has severe allergies that result in skin issues. We must bathe her once a week. Wen for Pets is wonderful! There was no irritation, the aroma is very mild and sure beats that "wet dog smell." My husband commented after the first use how soft her fur was. More importantly, she isn't suffering anymore. Our dog is our child and we are ever so grateful to you Chaz!
No More Itching!
Used this on my 30 pound labradoodle for the second time. He was plagued with itching and matting. The first time I had trouble getting the product to mix in the bottle--solution was to use very warm water and shake very vigorously; I also used more water than indicated on the bottle. Also, like I do when washing my hair with Wen, I had to rinse ALOT. Hence only 4 stars. The second time, I brought the product to the groomer and they raved about how it got out all the mattes and made his coat so soft. I told them they had to rinse and rinse again. It worked. If you rinse enough you won't have a problem with the smell.
