Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every household needs this one Kitchen necessity! Perfect quality and workmanship and functionality and not bad to look at either. Bought as a gift - have one in my own home. I re-watch Jan's video demo's to refresh my mind on things this beast of a machine can do and watch video's of chef's using it for restaurant food prep for ideas. Our kitchen's today are utilizing the best of technology to improve energy efficiency and have our food taste better - thanks to this 'do all' machine (and the air fryer, digital pressure cooker, induction burners etc) Nothing better in the sweltering weather than to have a 2 ingredient berry sorbet to dig into - after one minute of prep time - or in winter throw together a flavorful hot soup without a thought on a freezing cold night - then 'wet chop' your cauliflower for riced cauliflower - make almond milk - make hazelnut butter with about a nano=second of effort - Thanks QVC for your great pack ups for these blenders and for Jan and the hosts always enthusiastically selling a great product with great tips and tricks for new recipes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Win For Vitamix I bought my first VM in the mid 80's, the 3600+ with the reversible blades. It's still working perfectly! I've never worn out a Vitamix, have always given older models away. This is my third right now, I have the variable-speed 5200, the two-speed 4500, and now this Pro 500. This is the same basic machine as the other C-series machines, only with microprocessor control and 3 preset programs. As Vitamix says, all their machines will perform equally well with the tasks assigned. I was curious about the presets. I particularly like the 'pulse' button on this model, since in the past I've always had to quickly toggle the on/off switch. It's nice. I already have 2 other 64 oz containers. I don't want the short, squat ones because they don't create the same vortex as the old standard. I just store it on the counter next to the base--no problem. I own the dry container and use it at least weekly, often more. I also own the accessory travel cup setup for this model, and it's fantastic also. QVCs' price for this model was way, way less than any other site I found. It's my first order with QVC, off the website, but it won't be the last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would have been nice had it worked consistently After watching dozens of videos here and on Youtube about the Vitamix blenders, I was super excited to be finally getting one after wanting one for years. I was replacing a Nutribullet that burnt out and I really wanted another personal, single-serving blender, but the S-Series was not available on QVC. So I got a Pro 5000 as the price was right and I could get it on 6-pay. When I received it, I was disappointed it didn't come in a retail box but, oh well. It was pretty. The red looks really nice. The carafe was very sturdy and so was the base. What I didn't like, however, was the fact that the carafe just sits on the base and has a fair amount of play in it. This made me fear tipping it over during use. I got used to it, however, and went on to use the machine 5 times to make smoothies. The deal breaker was when, during the making of a simple milkshake with 10oz of milk, two scoops of icecream, and about 6 frozen strawberries, the machine powered up, ran up to speed 10, and - nothing! The mixture wasn't blending. In fact, it didn't move at all! I wondered if maybe the blades weren't moving so I turned it off and on a few times, moved between slow and high speeds, and still nothing. I thought of using the tamper, but this was after all a milkshake with plenty of liquid. That shouldn't have been necessary .After about three times of doing this, it finally started blending. It made a nice shake but then, so does my Ninja. And no blender I have ever had at any price has just sat there doing nothing. This happened again while making a smoothie, but not to the same degree. For $400+ I expect much more consistent performance than that. In your videos, your machines pull down a full 2 pounds of dry ingredients into a powerful vortex and create smoothies in less than 5 seconds, but my half liquid milkshake just sits there???? Not good. I'm gonna give it one more shot and order another model because I really do want a Vitamix. But they're gonna have to have better real world performance than that.
